On November 15, 2020, Sunday, the micro-master used Phyphox and ESP32 Bluetooth to conduct a coil self-induction experiment again, achieving satisfactory results.

Early Experiments

In previous experiments, due to the small self-inductance coefficient of the coil and the relatively large sampling resistance, the resulting image of the coil’s self-induction current was not ideal.

Recently, the transformer purchased online by the micro-master arrived. During the weekend leisure time, all the output terminals of the transformer were connected in series to form a large self-induction coil. Then, two 10-ohm fixed resistors were connected in parallel to form a 5-ohm sampling resistor to conduct the coil’s self-induction experiment.

Referring to previous experimental circuits, a new experimental circuit was built using the 5V power supply from the ESP32. The parallel voltage divider of the two 10-ohm resistors was used as the sampling voltage to calculate the current in the coil.

After establishing the Bluetooth connection between the phone and the ESP32, running the Phyphox program, and inserting the DuPont wire connected to the positive terminal of the power supply into the corresponding slot, Phyphox automatically recorded the variation of the coil’s current over time.

Expanding the coil’s self-induction current image to full screen, using the “Evaluate and Zoom” command to adjust the coil’s current image to an appropriate position, allows for observing the details of the current change during the energization of the coil.
