Trading Like a Robot: Understanding Emotional Control
I can trade like a robot because I believe that winning or losing has no value, and I deeply understand the results of consistently following controlled losses and rules while building a large sample, thus no longer fearing immediate trades.I am acutely aware that deviating from the rules will lead me away from success; I have a stronger aversion and emotional resistance to rule deviation than to victory or failure. In other words, in this sense, I effectively use emotion to prevent deviation from the rules. Those who feel resistance to the phrase “trading like a robot” may better understand it as a shift towards an emotion-driven approach. No matter what, we are human, and emotions cannot, nor should they be, eliminated. But in trading, we can utilize them in the right direction, using “leveraging emotions” to combat rule deviation, thus achieving trading like a robot.
