JND Knowledge Classroom
With the accelerated deployment of new infrastructure such as 5G and artificial intelligence, driven by policies promoting digital transformation and the vision of a digital China, data centers are rapidly expanding, with the total number of racks and market size growing rapidly. According to the “East Data West Computing” policy planning, it is expected that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, investment in large data centers will continue to grow at a rate of over 20% per year, with total investments exceeding 3 trillion yuan.
The new business load characteristics and the increasing computing power density of data centers have led to a continuous growth in demand for high-power processors and accelerators, prompting the evolution of data centers to meet these new high-power requirements. Traditional power architectures can no longer cope with the high energy consumption of today’s AI processors or be applied in cloud computing. Currently, the power architecture commonly used in data centers is the Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA). After the grid’s AC power enters the data center, it is converted to DC power at the switch power supply, which then enters the server’s onboard power section, where it is converted into a lower voltage DC power through voltage regulation (VR) to supply loads such as xPU.

JND Data Center Power Architecture Solutions
To meet the new power demands of the industry, JND has developed a new power architecture that uses a 48V distribution voltage, capable of reducing distribution losses by 16 times. The first high-voltage DC power of 380V is converted by the JND HVDC 2200W power module to output 48V DC power, and the second DC power is output as 12V DC power through the JND IBC high-efficiency non-isolated 1600W, 1300W, and 860W power modules, while the third power supply is provided by the DPS12100 100A Power Satellite to the xPU.

Advantages of JND Modular Power Supplies in Data Centers
Modular power supplies have the advantages of being compact, lightweight, highly efficient, strong stability, safety and reliability, and active current sharing, making them more suitable for data centers with strict space constraints.
First, the modular design of power supplies makes them smaller in size and significantly lighter, suitable for data center applications with strict space requirements.
Second, modular power supplies are designed using high-density integrated circuit technology, featuring high efficiency, capable of providing stable and efficient power to devices.
Third, modular power supplies use multiple independent power input and output modules internally, providing strong stability and maintaining voltage stability during device operation.
Finally, in practical applications, modular power supplies can shorten development time and reduce design complexity. For enterprises, using mature power modules can shorten project cycles and reduce risks, resulting in lower overall project costs.
