Tesla’s Optimus Robot

On November 11, 2025, news emerged that Tesla is preparing to expand its Texas Gigafactory, with the primary goal of constructing a dedicated facility for the mass production of the humanoid robot Optimus. Currently, Tesla is only operating a pilot production line at its Fremont factory in Northern California, assembling small batches of prototypes. This factory is planned to have an annual production capacity of 1 million units, mainly for technology validation and version iteration. In contrast, the new building at the Texas Gigafactory aims for an annual production capacity of up to 10 million units, which is ten times that of the former.
