Reverse the Norm! This ‘Slow Riding’ Competition is Absolutely Captivating
SUMMER

May Day Holiday
On May 3rd, a cycling competition that breaks conventional understanding took place! While everyone else was pursuing speed and excitement, we engaged in ‘slow riding’. In this fun and challenging 10-meter slow riding event, 13 contestants showcased their skills, bringing us a unique cycling feast!

Slow Riding!

At ten o’clock in the morning, the competition officially kicked off. The track was surrounded by eager contestants and cheering spectators, creating an extraordinary atmosphere. Unlike previous cycling competitions that pursued lightning speed, this time the challenge was to see who could ride the slowest within a distance of 10 meters, without touching the ground or exceeding the boundaries. This may sound simple, but it actually hides complexities, testing not only the contestants’ balance but also their patience and skills.

With the sound of the starting signal, the first contestant carefully mounted the bicycle and slowly pedaled. His body was tense, and his gaze was focused, as if walking on a tightrope, every movement was deliberate, fearing to go too fast or lose balance. The audience also became tense, holding their breath and watching, occasionally gasping or cheering.
The contestants took turns, each with their unique strategies. Some slightly swayed their bodies, moving forward at an extremely slow pace; others lowered their center of gravity, keeping their eyes fixed on the wheels, precisely controlling every inch of distance; and some, just before reaching the finish line, deliberately slowed down, staging a thrilling ‘tug of war’. The cheers and laughter from the audience rose and fell, pushing the atmosphere to one climax after another.

Award Ceremony!
After intense competition, the results are freshly out! Black Mamba, with outstanding balance skills and a calm mindset, won the championship with a time of 1 minute and 7 seconds; Carl followed closely, securing second place with a time of 54.22 seconds; and Niuzi was not to be outdone, taking third place with a time of 53.6 seconds. Their brilliant performances on the field earned them rounds of applause and cheers from the audience.

This uniquely creative ‘slow riding’ competition not only brought joy and surprises to everyone but also showcased the diverse charm of cycling sports. Who says cycling must be about speed? Slowing down can also yield different fun and challenges! Looking forward to the next time, where we can unlock more interesting cycling activities together!
