In the previous issue, we discussed some preparations and material introductions for the Raspberry Pi car. In this issue, we will talk about the hardware connections of the Raspberry Pi car.

1) Connection of Raspberry Pi Small Fan

Connect the fan to pins 3 and 5 of the 40-pin connector. After connecting, turn on the power to check if the fan is running.

2) Assembling the Car

(1) Use long screws to fix small components and motors.

Install all four wheels to complete the car assembly.

3) Wiring

Note: Except for the motor wires and battery box wires, use Dupont wires for all other connections.

(1) Wiring the Car Motors

First, observe that the installed motors have two small golden circles: (marked with red circles)

Hook the motor wires onto them, (if possible, you can choose to solder), each motor has 2 wires, so 4 motors mean 8 wires.

(2) Wiring L298N Module and Raspberry Pi

Next, observe each pin on the L298N module. Considering that the language might not be clear, I specially drew a rough diagram~

All four motors are connected this way.

Now, all hardware connections are complete.

If you have any questions, you can consult the editor in the background~ Assembling hardware requires patience, and I hope everyone can complete it smoothly!

In the next issue, we will introduce the software code that makes the car move, and explain the meaning of each line of code~
