Wei Min, a professor at Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, doctoral supervisor, dean of the School of Automation/School of Industrial Internet, director of the Ministry of Science and Technology’s International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for the Industrial Internet of Things, and executive director of the “Belt and Road” Joint Laboratory for the China-Korea Industrial Internet of Things, is a national-level young talent and an academic technology leader in Chongqing, as well as the head of the Chongqing Talent Program – Leading Talent in Innovation and Entrepreneurship – and has been engaged in research on the Industrial Internet of Things for a long time.

The main content of the book revolves around the new generation of Industrial Internet of Things, combining current hot technologies in information communication (5G, IPv6, edge computing, time-sensitive networks, etc.), and provides detailed introductions to the latest research results in aspects such as integrated networking, configuration, scheduling, and security of the new generation of Industrial Internet of Things, covering theoretical research and technical practice of the research team in the field of the Industrial Internet of Things; systematically providing solutions and application practices for heterogeneous networking and integration management of the Industrial Internet of Things; and systematically integrating technology with standards, incorporating the author’s latest research results in international and domestic standardization research of IoT technologies.I have gradually deepened my understanding of the structure and content of the book. Initially, I had no direction. The Industrial Internet of Things system is vast, with numerous technologies and complex applications. How to present its full picture in a single book, how to systematically explain my and my team’s understanding, interpretations of its key technologies, analyses of its application cases, and judgments on its development trends is a very challenging task. I hope this book can consolidate the consensus of the industry and academia on the Industrial Internet of Things and further facilitate communication and learning with peers.
