Accelerating the Layout of “Artificial Intelligence +”
Recently,
Alte Automotive Technology Co., Ltd.
(hereinafter referred to as “Alte”)
officially established its AI Robotics Division,
which focuses on robotic design services,
contract manufacturing, AI programming, and intelligent scene applications,
pioneering research and development and innovative applications in the robotics industry.
When asked, “Why transition from automotive to robotics?” Alte’s Vice President Wei Xinzhu said, “Last year we proposed an AI empowerment strategy, which has already achieved phased results. Robotics is expected to become the next important application scenario for AI, and automobiles themselves are intelligent ‘mobile robots’. At the same time, our collaboration with NVIDIA has also become a cross-industry opportunity.”
There are many technological synergies between the automotive and robotics fields. Alte has accumulated rich experience and capabilities in automotive design and development, such as product definition, styling design engineering, and software development, all of which can be transferred to the robotics industry. Additionally, the resources accumulated in the supply chain areas of drives, chip harnesses, and sensors, as well as technical cooperation and market resources from advanced technology countries like Japan, Germany, and the United States, can also be reused in the robotics field.
When robotics integrates with generative AI technology, it will achieve more advanced robotic systems, fostering broader market prospects. Previously, Alte reached a deep strategic cooperation with NVIDIA’s Omniverse (an open virtual collaboration and simulation platform), with the number of configured Omniverse instances ranking first in the automotive industry. In the future, it will also connect with NVIDIA’s complete robotics product system, including edge computing chips, Jetson hardware solutions, Isaac software development and testing solutions, and the robotics development ecosystem.
Facing the historical opportunity of a “global robotics industry explosion”, Alte aims to position itself as an ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) brand in robotics, expanding into a larger robotics market based on its existing business. Currently, Alte is in talks for collaboration with a top research institute in the life sciences field in China.
After establishing the AI Robotics Division, Alte will enhance its software system by referencing autonomous driving systems to improve the comprehensive situational awareness, analytical decision-making, and precise execution feedback capabilities of robots; in terms of hardware, it will focus on the comprehensive perception and fusion capabilities of sensors; and in system integration, it will form a three-dimensional ODM integration capability from solution to product through an “AI + Industry 4.0” management system.
In the future, Alte will be committed to integrating advanced software and hardware technology supply chains, creating an open collaborative innovation platform, and partnering with Zhizhu AI, top universities, and leading enterprises across various industries to empower and support AI robotics innovation and application development.
