My Aspirations in Science and Mathematics

My “Aspirations”

English has always been my weakness throughout middle school. From scoring 118 in the first class exam to just 65 this time, my grades have fluctuated without any improvement. Despite such low English scores, I have never fallen out of the top twenty in class. This is all thanks to my “aspirations” in the sciences.

Mathematics, although I often lose many points due to my handwriting, I have never scored below a hundred in this subject. I frequently receive good news from my classmate Zhou Qing. I hope that in future major exams, my math scores can be as high as Zhou Qing’s. Therefore, I have decided to be more careful during exams, to read the questions clearly before writing, and not to make mistakes like I did this time, where I realized I had chosen the wrong method for the last question right after finishing it, and my handwriting was too large to make any corrections. I could only spend the last thirty to forty minutes hoping that the grader would be lenient.

Biology and Physics are also two of my strong subjects. No matter how difficult the questions are, as long as I “open my eyes,” I can always figure them out. One reason I enjoy the sciences is that even if I doze off in class, I can still deduce knowledge points and answers based on memory during exams. Mathematics, Biology, and Physics are typical of the sciences.

However, there is one subject in the sciences that I am not good at, which is Geography. Like English, I scored high in Geography during the first monthly test. At that time, among the four minor subjects, only Geography scored forty. But now, I have scored in the thirties for two consecutive tests. The Geography teacher always believes I can score above forty-five, but I am too playful and often forget the knowledge points, leading to my current poor performance.

I hope that in this midterm exam, I can bring my math score back to 120, achieve full marks in at least one of Physics or Biology, and score around forty-five in Geography. (As for English, I dare not say much; last time my mom asked me to estimate my score, I said at least sixty, and it turned out to be sixty-five.)
