MediaTek has been very productive lately. In addition to launching the new 5G chip brand “Dimensity”, which includes Dimensity 1000, Dimensity 1000L, and Dimensity 800, the G90 series processors aimed at gaming smartphones introduced last summer now have siblings—the MediaTek Helio G70 series processors.
According to the official website, the MediaTek G70 uses a 12nm FinFET process, with a CPU configuration of [email protected] + [email protected], and a GPU of Arm Mali-G52 MC2 (820MHz). It is positioned as a 4G SoC that does not support 5G, aimed at entry-level devices.
In terms of detailed specifications, the MediaTek G70 supports LPDDR4x, with a maximum of 8GB of memory, and storage supports up to eMMC5.1, with a maximum screen resolution of 2520*1080, a camera up to 48MP, and supports Bluetooth 5.0, among other features.
Meanwhile, there is also a G70T variant, which is expected to have similar specifications, with the CPU and GPU frequencies of the G70T being slightly higher than those of the G70. There are rumors that Redmi 9 may be the first to feature the MediaTek G70, which is expected to have a 6.6-inch screen, starting with 4+64GB, and the expected price will be around 799-899.
