Today afternoon, MediaTek officially released the Dimensity 900, which is another 6nm 5G SoC following the Dimensity 1100 and Dimensity 1200.
In terms of specifications, the Dimensity 900 uses a 6nm process, with a CPU configuration of 2*[email protected] + 6*[email protected], and a GPU of Mali-G68 MC4. It supports LPDDR5 and UFS 3.1, up to 108MP camera, 120Hz FHD+ display, dual-mode 5G with dual SIM standby, and WiFi 6, among others. (The support for LPDDR5 is indeed a self-competition against its own Dimensity 1100/1200.)
Currently, the Dimensity 1100 is already priced under 2000 RMB, so we can expect the Dimensity 900 to be similarly priced, likely targeting the budget smartphone market, succeeding the Dimensity 820 and similar models. The official announcement states that mass production of cooperating terminal devices will begin in the second quarter of this year, with rumors suggesting it may debut in the standard version of OPPO Reno6, but there have also been leaks indicating that the Redmi Note series will feature it. It remains to be seen who will launch it first and at what price.
MediaTek is indeed quietly producing and profiting this year.
