On March 5, 2016, the “Shanghai High School Famous School MOOC Platform” (hereinafter referred to as the “MOOC Platform”) officially began trial operation. The Shanghai Municipal Institute of Educational Technology is responsible for the management and operation of the MOOC platform. The first phase included 27 MOOCs launched successively by Shanghai High School, East China Normal University Second Affiliated High School, Fudan University Affiliated High School, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Affiliated High School. As of now, 61 courses have been offered by 18 experimental and demonstration high schools and specialized high schools on the platform, covering multiple fields such as language and literature, mathematics, social sciences, natural sciences, technology, arts, and comprehensive practice. These courses are all mature specialized expansion and research-based courses reflecting the school’s educational culture and values.

All junior high and senior high school students in Shanghai can log in to the MOOC Platform (http://gzmooc.edu.sh.cn/) with their student ID or ID card number to register, browse course information, and choose courses of interest every weekend and during winter and summer vacations (daily from 8:00 to 20:00).

To help teachers and students better understand the characteristics of courses from various schools on the platform and the presentation format of MOOCs, each of the 18 schools has recommended one course that represents its characteristics. “Teacher Boya”“Shanghai Education”“First Education” and other WeChat platforms will showcase these courses. Introduction to Arduino Interactive Electronics

The microcontroller course is an entry-level content for learning embedded development, covering knowledge in analog circuits, digital circuits, C language, and other areas, while Arduino makes all of this simple. Arduino is currently the most popular open-source microcontroller learning platform, where students can follow the teacher’s guidance to complete a simple electronic device in each class, becoming familiar with Arduino’s control principles and programming environment, and learning some basic knowledge of electronics and informatics. Through hands-on learning, students will eventually complete their own interactive electronic project designs.

Teacher Wang Yuehui: His main research direction is mechatronic automation, with rich experience in guiding students in innovation, maker projects, and research-based learning.

Teacher’s Message

This course covers knowledge related to electronics and informatics. Through simple circuit building and programming control, various interesting electronic experiments can be realized. The learning of this course will help students embark on the path of young makers. Each student will have their own Arduino learning kit, and every week they can work hands-on with the teacher and share their Arduino interactive electronic projects online with everyone.

Student Evaluation

I am just a first-year junior high school student, but I am very interested in this course.

I hope to learn about Arduino knowledge through this course and be able to design some interesting projects by myself.

I have been learning Pascal programming for over a year and just bought an Arduino material kit.
