Huawei’s LINUX Laptops: Let’s Not Overhype Them

Huawei has released several LINUX laptops, and there are a lot of hype articles online, all looking the same, clearly official promotional content that feels like swallowing a bunch of flies!

“Wow, Huawei laptops can actually install WINDOWS!” — as if other laptops can’t install WINDOWS as well;

“After installing WINDOWS on Huawei, the experience is just like native WINDOWS!” — as if there’s an alien version of WINDOWS on Earth;

“Buying the Huawei LINUX version can save you 300 yuan, and after switching to WINDOWS, it’s just like the original!” — is WINDOWS just falling from the sky for free? Is this encouraging the installation of pirated software?

“After switching to WINDOWS, you can experience Huawei’s smart features like multi-screen collaboration perfectly!” — Come on, really thinking about the users? Why not just make a LINUX version of PCManager? Let users directly use Smart Exploration and Multi-Screen Collaboration on LINUX, instead of trying to find a way to install a pirated WINDOWS to use your PCManager. Who knows how many viruses and trojans come with pirated WINDOWS, and in most usage scenarios, LINUX is sufficient, just missing your PCManager.

I am a long-time Huawei fan, with Huawei phones, computers, and tablets, and I appreciate every bit of progress Huawei makes in consumer products. But this hype around the LINUX version products is really disgusting!

Can we just focus on making good products without mindless hype? If the products are well-made and cost-effective, people will naturally buy them. Don’t just put a logo on something and start blowing it up to the sky.
