The Konka LCD TV uses the RTD2995D main chip for its 4K network LCD TVs. This type of motherboard often has faulty EMMC chips. After replacing the EMMC, you need to use a programmer to write the boot program and then upgrade it using a USB drive. Some TVs that fail to upgrade via USB can also have the boot program written into them, allowing for an upgrade via USB! There are many tutorials on this upgrade method, but there are still technicians in the group asking how to use it. Recently, I repaired a motherboard for this platform and performed the operations, so this post will discuss the method for online writing of the boot program for the RTD2995D platform EMMC and the USB upgrade method! This post includes software and boot data that I have used and wish to share.
The programmer needs to be connected to the dedicated upgrade interface on the motherboard. Do not use the VGA interface, as using the VGA interface will result in a failure message after reaching 100%. After connecting the cables, first test the connection by printing information. Set the baud rate to 115200, with wire order 12 and 15.
Before upgrading, you need to download the software and boot program. After downloading and extracting, follow the photos below to set up and use the software.
After writing the boot program, please cut off the power to the motherboard, then insert the USB drive containing the install files into the TV, and open the SecureCRT serial printing software.
For motherboards that can upgrade normally: put the program on the USB drive and hold the TV volume + button while powering on to upgrade. If the USB drive cannot upgrade, you can use this method. This method of online writing the boot program via the serial port is compatible with both the RT809F and RT809H programmers, as well as the JT1199 programmer. Of course, you can also use the RT809H programmer to directly write the backed-up EMMC data all at once.
