How to Replace the Battery of FANUC Robot Controller

First, thank you all for your support. We welcome all technical experts to contribute here. Additionally, please indicate the original author when submitting. Here are the key points for replacing the battery of the FANUC robot controller.

The motherboard battery should not be removed casually, as it can easily lead to system data loss. It is the power source that stores important information such as system files and program files. If the battery voltage is too low or fails, it can cause data loss, resulting in the robot being unable to operate.

How to Replace the Battery of FANUC Robot Controller

If the device runs for about 8 hours a day, it is recommended to replace the battery approximately every 2 years. If the running time is shorter, reduce the battery replacement interval, or refer to the system battery voltage low code information for specifics. It is advisable to back up system files before replacing the motherboard battery to avoid prolonged recovery time.

The specific replacement steps are as follows:

1. Do not turn off the controller power. (Note: To ensure personal safety, always press the emergency stop when maintaining or replacing the controller or robotic arm battery!). Turning off the controller power can easily lead to system file loss. If you must power down, complete the replacement within a short time, generally recommended within 1 minute.

2. Disconnect the battery connection wire.

3. Remove the old battery from the battery box.

4. Insert the new battery into the battery box and connect the wire terminal, ensuring to match the battery’s polarity.

The same operation applies to replacing the robotic arm battery!
