Today’s project is about how to make a mini gaming PC using LattePanda, including making the case and the monitor.
Since LattePanda can come pre-installed with an X86 Windows system, combined with Alpha’s high specifications, the performance of the whole machine is quite good. At the end of the article, the author also demonstrates how to use this machine for PR editing and watching 4K 60fps videos.
Despite the overall cost-performance ratio not seeming that high, I hope everyone can gain something from this share.

LattePanda Alpha
LattePanda Alpha is a single-board computer the size of a phone.

Specifications are as follows:

Comes with one cooling fan and a 45w PD type-C power adapter.
The Core m3 processor is a perfect choice for excellent performance and low power consumption. The Alpha comes with 8GB of RAM and 64GB eMMC, supports M.2 interface SSDs and a rich set of GPIO expansion ports, meeting most application needs.
Display

This 7-inch LCD display has a high resolution of 1024×600 pixels, supporting both button and remote control operations. It is protected by a box with a stand made of high-quality black acrylic.
The display will support different video input interfaces such as HDMI, VGA, and AV (CVBS). Additionally, it comes with an HDMI cable for quick screen connection.
Since the buttons on the display are facing backward, we can choose to control the screen via the buttons or use the remote to adjust its contrast or color. Its back is designed with mounting holes, supporting assembly with Raspberry Pi 3B, 2B, 1B+/A+/B, etc.
Start Building
First, before installing the LattePanda Alpha 864s into the 3D printed box, we need to add an SSD (the system itself comes with 64GB eMMC V5.0), and we are using one from Samsung. The specific operation is as follows:

Then we can install the LP inside.

Next is the assembly of the case.

Due to the limited USB ports on the LattePanda Alpha itself, we also prepared two USB extensions, which we will secure as well.


Then stick the prepared stickers on the machine to make it look more textured.

Fan and LED Strip
Once the main body is secured and the USB extensions are also secured, we can install the fan, LED strip, and RGB fan.
The purpose of the fan is for cooling, and combined with RGB, it can make the whole case look cooler.
After securing the LED strip, we will connect it to the Arduino Nano.

Connecting the Monitor
The final step is to assemble the monitor.
Take out our 10.1-inch (25.7 cm) monitor and connect the cables.

Secure the stand.

Connect the monitor to the case.
Plug it in.

Power on!
