Throughout the course, Jiang Songyang compared embedded systems to the “smart brain” of automobiles, explaining its critical role in the operation of vehicles, from the working principles of engines to the overall structure of cars. He used vivid language to simplify complex knowledge. When discussing the applications of embedded automobiles in daily life, children raised their hands to share their discoveries. “I found that the image I see when my dad’s car is reversing might be due to this ‘brain’ working,” said child Yang Xiaotian. Jiang Songyang then elaborated on the technological challenges that automobiles will face in the future and patiently answered the students’ questions.

Before the game started, team member Wu Lianghui carefully explained the rules, emphasizing the importance of safety and respect, ensuring that every participant could enjoy the game in a joyful and cooperative atmosphere. In a cheerful rhythm, the children eagerly participated, and the child who received the “flower” had to showcase their talent, filling the scene with laughter and applause. This game not only brought the teacher-student relationship closer but also enhanced the cohesion among the team members.

In the afternoon, team member Zhu Xinyu focused on guiding the children in hands-on practice, conducting the “Creative Design Challenge” activity. First, various vehicle models were presented to the students, followed by an analysis of travel-related issues, illustrating the dangers of situations like “slippery icy roads” and “traffic jams” to introduce problem-solving ideas.

During the practical session, the teaching team guided the children to combine their imagined vehicle designs with everyday travel problems, encouraging them to collaborate in pairs and design their team’s car. “I will take care of the car body, and you can paint it beautifully,” said child Cai Wanning, actively dividing tasks with her partner. The children communicated their ideas and reasonably allocated tasks during the collaboration, filling the entire process with creativity and collaborative energy. After completing their creative design drafts, the team members distributed 3D automotive puzzles to the children. During the assembly process, the children carefully followed the assembly instructions, while the team members studied the instructions closely to familiarize themselves with the assembly steps. “This part should go with that one; look, there’s a hole here,” a child pointed out to their partner. When encountering problems, the students actively sought help from the team members or discussed solutions with their partners, creating an atmosphere filled with creativity and team spirit.

This initiative received unanimous recognition from most parents. “Thank you, teachers, for your hard work,” a parent commented in the group. Teacher Li, who coordinated the event in Liu Yan Community, also stated: “The courses brought by the teaching team from Hubei University of Automotive Technology are both professional and interesting, enriching the children’s summer lives and igniting their interest in automotive technology.
