On April 27, 2025, Dazhe Optoelectronics announced that its R&D team has successfully fabricated a1×2 m large-area perovskite film.

Dazhe Optoelectronics has overcome the challenges of large-area perovskite film preparation through its self-developed vapor-assisted crystallization control technology, dynamic gradient film formation process, and cross-scale defect regulation technology, successfully producing high-quality films at the 1×2 meter scale. This technological breakthrough is based on the team’s innovative “non-equilibrium crystallization dynamics model,” which precisely controls the film growth dynamics and interfacial energy evolution mechanisms, combined with gradient annealing strategies and light field-induced grain boundary reconstruction technology, achieving ordered arrangement of perovskite crystals and homogeneous growth of metastable crystal phases on glass substrates, effectively addressing issues of uneven crystallization during the preparation of large-area perovskite solar cells.

Unlike conventional mainstream technological routes in the industry, Dazhe Optoelectronics has independently developed the world’s first “Perovskite Film Preparation – Intelligent Positioning – In-situ Metallization” process route, which has a very low investment cost and encompasses ultra-precision coating, in-situ detection, laser positioning, and metallization across the entire process. This process strategy balances the production costs of large-area perovskite film formation and component manufacturing, developing a new paradigm for square meter-level photovoltaic components.

Dazhe Optoelectronics’ breakthrough directly propels perovskite technology from the laboratory to the industrialization threshold. Breaking away from traditional rigid thinking, the establishment of the 1×2 m perovskite film lays a solid research foundation for the recent development of 1×2 m large-area perovskite components, and this technology will redefine the form and cost structure of solar energy products.

In August 2024, Dazhe Optoelectronics achieved an efficiency of 31.5% for small-area perovskite-silicon tandem solar cells, and the efficiency of 300*300mm large-area perovskite cells has exceeded 20%. Dazhe Optoelectronics actively promotes university-industry cooperation, maintaining close exchanges and collaborations with well-known domestic and international universities and research institutions such as Zhejiang University, Hebei University of Technology, Jiaxing University, and Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences, focusing on high-efficiency large-area perovskite cell preparation, perovskite cell tandem technology, thin-film cell equipment development, and the development of core functional materials for organic-inorganic hybrids, committed to advancing the arrival of a zero-carbon energy era.
