Two months ago, I had already flashed the root version of the official firmware for the Phicomm K3 router (see “Flashing ROOT Firmware on Phicomm K3 Router: Enable Ad Filtering, Internal Network Penetration, and Aria2 Features”), but during use, I found that it occasionally lost connection, and the ad filtering effect was not ideal, especially since the web control interface was not visually appealing. So today, I will share a detailed guide on how to flash OpenWrt LEDE firmware on the Phicomm K3 router, which is powerful enough… (10,000 words omitted), you can see for yourself!
The functionality menu of the Phicomm K3 after flashing this OpenWrt LEDE firmware is rich, to say the least.
What I value the most is that after flashing the OpenWrt LEDE firmware on the Phicomm K3 router, it has KoolProxyR plus+ and Adblock Master Plus+ for ad filtering. After testing, I found that it can comprehensively filter various banners, pop-ups, and video ads, while also preventing tracking, privacy theft, and various malicious websites. It runs in conjunction with Adblock Plus Host (also supports AdGuardHome /Host / DNSMASQ rules), filtering ads without losing bandwidth.
OK, without further ado, I will slowly explain the functionality and tutorials later; today, I will share how to flash the Phicomm K3 router.
Tools Required for Flashing Phicomm K3

As usual, flash the configuration file: log in to the Phicomm K3 router → Function Settings → Backup and Restore → Browse to select the downloaded cn.dat file → Restore Backup.
After rebooting, log in to the Phicomm K3 router using the password tbvv.net → Function Settings → Storage Management → Change the username to admin → Save.
Function Settings → Manual Upgrade → Select lede-bcm53xx-phicomm-k3-squashfs-factory-20170504.bin firmware → Upload Upgrade.
If an error or other issues occur, you can directly use tools like putty_cn.exe to access the router via ssh, default 192.168.2.1, enter the username and password (admin), then type tb to enter toolbox mode.
Then select 5 flash & restore, and flash the lede firmware.
Wait for about 3 minutes, then open the lede management address https://192.168.1.1, username root, password empty, just press enter to log in.
Click System → Backup/Flash Firmware → Flash new firmware image → Keep settings: (uncheck) → Select openwrt-phicomm-k3-squashfs-D200516-Mask.trx firmware → Flash image → Proceed to confirm submission. Wait for about 3 minutes to complete the flashing process.
Since this OpenWrt LEDE firmware has been optimized for the Phicomm K3,
