In the development process of CAN/CANopen products, data analysis is a very crucial part. Data frame analysis software acts like a universal tool in your work. It should not only capture CAN data packets but also assist you in analyzing data functions, even arranging data in a rule-based sequence, allowing you to eliminate each issue through data frame analysis in the shortest time possible. Besides the data frame analysis function, the analysis software should also be capable of simulating and emulating data frame command operations to facilitate problem confirmation and verify whether the modified functions meet requirements and remain stable.
CANopen Device Explorer is a tool launched by the German company emotas for development, testing, diagnosis, and other services. It can provide CANopen (FD) master station functionality and can analyze and configure standard CANopen devices.
Information about each standard CANopen or CANopen FD device can be read through the device’s EDS file or scanned directly from the device. Additionally, it can configure devices, save and export standard device configuration files (DCF). Furthermore, the entire CANopen network data can be saved to a project file. The built-in scripting functionality based on QtScript design provides users with the possibility to create custom tests and control applications, significantly improving efficiency.

The content of the device object dictionary is displayed in a well-arranged object browser. Each object can be accessed based on the read and write permissions assigned to it. CANopen Device Explorer supports all SDO services. The values of each object can be displayed in data types such as decimal, hexadecimal, binary, or ASCII format. Large data volumes, such as block data, can be read from or written to a file directly.

CANopen Device Explorer supports configuring PDO mapping through simple drag-and-drop operations. The sending and receiving operations of PDO can be completed through graphical mouse clicks. The sending period of PDO triggered by SYNC messages can be set to send once or periodically according to testing and diagnostic requirements.
