C6040 Further Expands the Ultra-Compact Industrial PC SeriesThe ultra-compact industrial PC sets a new benchmark in power density

The Beckhoff C60xx ultra-compact industrial PC series has introduced the more powerful C6040, opening up a whole new application field for users. It is equipped with the 12th generation Intel® Core™ processor with up to 16 cores, achieving unprecedented power density.
The 12th generation processor adopts a hybrid design architecture of “performance cores + efficiency cores”. Like previous generations, the 12th generation Intel® Celeron®, Pentium®, and Core™ i3 and i5 are only equipped with traditional performance cores. However, the special feature of the Intel® Core™ i7 and i9 processors used in the C6040 is that they are the first to adopt a hybrid architecture. This means that the Core™ i7 processor adds four efficiency cores,
while the Core™ i9 processor adds eight. This hybrid design, where performance cores and efficiency cores coexist, allows applications to be implemented on a total of 12 or 16 processor cores.
The performance cores are mainly responsible for high-load single-threaded tasks, while the efficiency cores excel at real-time processing or handling multi-threaded tasks in user mode. More importantly, the clock frequency of each core is independent. The additional integratedpower supply (developed and produced in-house at Beckhoff headquarters) provides sufficient power reserves to fully utilize the available computing power of the processor. The dimensions of the C6040 are only 132 x 202 x 76 mm. This new general-purpose industrial PC is particularly suitable for complex multi-axis control, HMI applications, and applications with very short cycles, as well as machine learning andmachine vision applications.
