RK3506 is an MPU product launched by Rockchip, with a chip process of 22nm, positioned as a lightweight, low-cost solution.This MPU features low power consumption, a rich set of peripheral interfaces, and high real-time performance, making it suitable for various industrial and commercial scenarios.This article will analyze its application scenarios based on the design characteristics of RK3506.
RK3506 is mainly divided into three models, with the differences between the models shown in the figure below:

Scenario 1: Display HMI
Its display interfaces support RGB, MIPI, QSPI output, and support 2D graphics acceleration, easily running QT, LVGL, and other GUIs, booting in as fast as 3 seconds. It supports 720P 30FPS video soft decoding, capable of H.264 and MJPEG decoding.

Scenario 2: Industrial Communication
RK3506 supports dual 100M Ethernet, 2 CANFD, and 6 UART interfaces, meeting the control and communication requirements of conventional industrial fields. In addition, this processor supports DSMC bus, allowing for easy expansion of more resources via FPGA.
