In the past year, the monitor market has become quite competitive. Many manufacturers have launched 2K resolution >144Hz high refresh rate screens in the 700 yuan price range. However, products from different manufacturers naturally have slight differences, so today we will analyze on paper the advantages and disadvantages of each manufacturer’s monitors.
First model, ViewSonic VS20050【2K 170Hz IPS Panel】
Currently priced at 719 yuan, with a cash red envelope of 20 yuan for purchases, effectively making it 699 yuan.
ViewSonic was founded in 1987 and has been in the business for 37 years, making it an established monitor manufacturer. ViewSonic’s status in the hearts of digital enthusiasts is naturally much higher than that of those new brands.
From the specifications alone, ViewSonic seems to excel in every aspect, but in reality, this monitor is indeed quite versatile. First, this monitor has a built-in power supply, so there’s no need to drag a large brick around during daily use. Secondly, the wall mount reserved position (100*100mm) on the back of this monitor is not occupied, which means we can hang a mini PC behind the monitor:
However, as with any product, there are inevitably shortcomings. The stand of this monitor is quite basic and does not support screen height adjustment or rotation. The maximum brightness is only 300 cd/m² (thus the monitor is only rated for HDR10).
Second model, Panda S27Q6【2K 180Hz Innolux IPS Panel】
Another similar model is the Panda, also priced at 699 yuan. Although the maximum refresh rate is 10Hz higher than the previous one, this difference is almost negligible.
However, Panda has an external power supply. There is a wall mount interface, but the wall mount interface (75*75mm) of the Panda S27Q6 conflicts with the built-in stand, meaning both cannot be used simultaneously.
Other aspects are also the same HDR10, the same poor stand, and there aren’t many highlights. It appears rather mediocre among a crowd of small monitors.
Third model, Honeycomb Gaming D270HQH【2K 180Hz BOE IPS Panel】
As a new brand that just entered the public eye in the second half of this year, Honeycomb Gaming has set a very friendly price to gain recognition, priced at 699 yuan on JD.com (with an additional 20 yuan card for reviews). However, monitors with BOE panels from JD.com are generally not very expensive.Still, the stand is a drawback; although it’s slightly better than the previous two, it remains quite basic.
Fourth model, Malida W2886X【2K 165Hz IPS Panel】
Priced at 599 yuan, yes, you read that right. My eyes almost popped out when I saw that JD.com could offer it for under 600 yuan, which is simply outrageous. Even I, as a student, can enjoy a discount of 569 yuan:
I completely disregard the issues of being a niche brand (established in 1984, previously mainly producing audio equipment), the poor stand, and the maximum brightness of only 300 cd/m².
Fifth model, Lenovo Lecoo K2718Q【2K 180Hz BOE IPS Panel】
Although this monitor’s manufacturer is the largest mentioned in this article and the price is slightly higher at 749 yuan, the stand is basically the same as the previous models, with a basic functionality. Moreover, the panel’s maximum brightness is a poor 250cd/m².
Sixth model, those 24-inch 2K high refresh screens
