Sony AI Camera Module Created for Raspberry Pi
Raspberry Pi
Raspberry Pi and Sony have teamed up to develop an AI camera module for the Raspberry microcomputer. Notably, this novelty has already started selling and is compatible with all versions.
The camera is equipped with a sensor with a resolution of 12.3 MP, capable of recording video at 10 fps at 4056×3040 pixels or 40 fps (2028×1520 pixels). Manual focus adjustment and a 76-degree field of view. The module’s dimensions are 25 x 24 x 11.9 mm.
Raspberry Pi points out that with the new solution, developers will be able to easily create “cutting-edge solutions for visual data processing AI”, and the combination of the RP2040 microcontroller and Sony IMX500 eliminates the need for additional components, such as AI accelerators or GPUs.
The Raspberry Pi AI camera is available for purchase at a price of $70.
