2021 Annual Fire Technology Achievements – Smart Fire Early Warning System Based on NB-IoT

(1) Achievement Overview:

The smart fire early warning system based on NB-IoT consists of perception layer devices, NB-IoT network, wireless connected fire warning monitoring platform, and terminal App. The perception layer devices include independent smoke fire detectors with wireless connectivity, independent temperature fire detectors, independent combustible gas detectors, and independent electrical fire monitoring detectors. This system aims to address the lack of effective fire warning and control measures in fire safety “lowlands” such as residential homes, “nine small places”, shared spaces, cultural heritage buildings, and ancient towns. It comprehensively perceives and analyzes parameters such as fire, electricity, gas, water, video, and environment in protected locations, enhancing the fire warning detection capability, product battery life, system alarm timeliness, and system operational stability of the wireless connected fire warning system.

(2) Functional Features:

1. Independent fire detectors are insect-proof and resistant to dust pollution;

2. Fire alarm verification logic and remote video fire confirmation;

3. Independent fire detectors have network signal quality monitoring functions;

4. Suitable for electrical fire monitoring in use places with open and closed residual current sensing technology;

5. Multiple information push methods such as voice calls, SMS, and App;

6. The platform achieves grid-based permission management;

7. Wireless connected devices are low power consumption with long battery life;

8. Simple device installation with low system deployment costs;

9. High reliability of large-capacity networking for perception layer devices.

3. Time for offline fault alarm of independent fire detector: ≤24h.

Comparison with similar domestic and international equipment:

1. Based on NB-IoT narrowband cellular public network, combined with battery optimization power-saving technology, it improves network scale, receiving sensitivity, and coverage, achieving a balance with low power consumption requirements.

The system effectively solves the problem that independent fire detectors can only alarm locally and cannot transmit alarm signals remotely. Based on the authorized frequency band cellular public network, the channel is clean, reducing investment costs, and the reliability and stability of the network are high. In urban environments, system capacity can expand to tens of thousands of points, and communication distance can reach kilometers, capable of communication through one concrete wall, with battery life lasting over 3 years.

2. Based on multiple information interfaces and hierarchical permission settings, the system meets the actual fire prevention and control needs of residences, small places, shared spaces, and temporary buildings.

The system cloud platform can access various independent fire detection and early warning information, has functions for information access, processing, and alarm classification with permission push, and has interfaces for linkage with video monitoring systems, utilizing video resources for fire alarm confirmation.
