Zhengzhou’s 32 core areas were proposed in 2019, and according to the annual overall work plan, this year will see the comprehensive implementation of the development and construction of these 32 core areas, effectively driving the transformation of the city’s development model. Today, let’s take a look at the planning of the two core areas in Zhengzhou’s sub-city. Yesterday, the official WeChat account of Zhengzhou Airport Port officially released relevant information about the core areas.
From the images, the overall layout of the Zhengzhou Airport Port Experimental Zone has been newly adjusted. According to the positioning requirements of the high-quality “dynamic” southern region, the construction of the core areas of the Airport Port Experimental Zone will be promoted to achieve new breakthroughs as soon as possible, providing strong support for the Airport Port Experimental Zone to lead in high-quality development. Following the functional layout of “central flow, northern city, southern industry,” three major core areas have been planned: the Airport New City, the Air-Rail New City, and the Shuanghe Lake Technology City.

The establishment of the construction command centers for the Airport New City and the Air-Rail New City marks the beginning of a new phase in the construction of the core areas of the Airport Port Experimental Zone.
In conjunction with the distribution of the 32 core areas, the Airport Port Experimental Zone will have a public cultural service center and an international economic and cultural exchange center, with the public cultural service center located in the northern port’s Airport New City and the international economic and cultural exchange center located in the eastern port’s Air-Rail New City.

Sub-City – Airport New City
 The Airport New City is located in the northern part of the Airport Port Experimental Zone, covering an area of 101.42 square kilometers. It will develop a comprehensive urban service area, forming a combination of business trade, technology research and development, and high-end residential functions, creating an ecological, smart, and livable new city. The public cultural service center is the core area of the Airport New City, with a planned area of 13.67 square kilometers.
The Airport New City is located in the northern part of the Airport Port Experimental Zone, covering an area of 101.42 square kilometers. It will develop a comprehensive urban service area, forming a combination of business trade, technology research and development, and high-end residential functions, creating an ecological, smart, and livable new city. This year, the focus will be on starting the construction work of the 3.4 square kilometer initial area within the core area, with plans to initiate 14 projects including the headquarters building for the financial industry, headquarters building for the construction industry, new generation information technology industrial park (Airport Smart Valley), Nankai Middle School, archives, citizen service center, and commercial complex, with a total investment of approximately 9.05 billion yuan, and an investment plan of about 530 million yuan for 2021. Plans include signing 7 new projects, with funds reaching 3 billion yuan, constructing over 10 kilometers of new roads, and increasing green space by more than 100,000 square meters.

Sub-City – Air-Rail New City
 The Air-Rail New City is located in the central part of the Airport Port Experimental Zone, covering an area of 172.73 square kilometers, centered around the airport and the high-speed rail southern station. It will fully leverage the driving role of the comprehensive bonded zone, forming a hub economic functional area characterized by international trade, trade exhibitions, export processing, air transport, and high-speed rail logistics. The dual-hub advantage pattern within the region will make the Airport Port Experimental Zone a core node integrating domestic and international dual circulation.
The Air-Rail New City is located in the central part of the Airport Port Experimental Zone, covering an area of 172.73 square kilometers, centered around the airport and the high-speed rail southern station. It will fully leverage the driving role of the comprehensive bonded zone, forming a hub economic functional area characterized by international trade, trade exhibitions, export processing, air transport, and high-speed rail logistics.
