Craftsmanship “Core” Unique, Warmth for Thousands of Families
Henan University of Economics and Trade School of Internet of Things and Communication launched a voluntary repair service activity for smart appliances
In order to implement the spirit of the National Vocational Education Conference, actively respond to the “Vocational Education Activity Week” program, and promote the glorious labor, valuable skills, and the great era of creativity, the School of Internet of Things and Communication at Henan University of Economics and Trade, based on its professional characteristics, carried out a voluntary repair activity for smart appliances in the Mingli Road community on May 16, demonstrating the college’s firm determination to empower society with its expertise and to test teaching through practice.
During the event, the teacher-student team repaired traditional appliances such as electric fans and rice cookers, as well as new smart appliances. The students applied their learned skills in circuit testing and sensor debugging to troubleshoot issues one by one. A total of over 80 smart appliances were repaired, benefiting more than 60 households, and receiving unanimous praise from the community residents. During the event, the students also acted as “technical instructors,” educating residents on energy-saving usage and safety precautions for smart appliances, while promoting the concept of smart homes, showcasing the innovative value of vocational education in serving daily life.
This smart appliance repair activity is not only a “training ground” for professional skills but also a “touchstone” for social needs. The “satisfaction” of the public is the best reflection of the “gold content” of talent cultivation. In the future, the college will continue to use social needs as a mirror, with technology services as a medium, to deepen school-community cooperation, and cultivate more high-quality skilled talents who “understand technology and have warmth,” ensuring that the achievements of vocational education truly benefit thousands of households.
