From August 16 to 17, 2024, Dean Dai Daoxin of the School of Optoelectronics, along with Alumni Association President Li Wuyi and others, visited several alumni enterprises including Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co., Ltd., Fujian Haichuang Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., and Fujian Fuzhijing Technology Co., Ltd.
On the afternoon of August 16, Dean Dai accompanied Ren Shaobo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University, Huang Xianhai, Vice President, Zhu Hui, Deputy Secretary, and over ten members from the Party Office, President’s Office, Domestic Cooperation Office, Development Liaison Office, and Employment Guidance and Service Center to visit Fuzhou Rockchip Electronics Co., Ltd., where they were warmly received by Chairman Li Min, an alumnus from the Class of 1984.
Founded in 2001, Rockchip focuses on integrated circuit design and research and development. After more than twenty years of relentless effort, the company has grown from a startup to a leading enterprise in IoT (Internet of Things) and AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) processor chips. Rockchip’s product line is diverse, covering processor chips, power management chips, mixed-signal chips, optoelectronic products, and development boards. From consumer electronics to industrial control, from smart homes to intelligent transportation, Rockchip’s products are ubiquitous.
In the product exhibition hall, Chairman Li Min provided a detailed introduction to Ren Shaobo and his team regarding Rockchip’s recent developments, business overview, main products, patented technologies, and application solutions, expressing a strong desire to strengthen communication and cooperation with the alma mater for mutual development.
Secretary Ren presented a beautiful school landscape plate to Rockchip on behalf of the university, congratulating the alumni on their achievements and expressing admiration for Rockchip’s contributions to national strategies through technology and chip strength. He hoped that both sides could further strengthen communication, gather resources, and better promote the high-quality development of alumni, alumni enterprises, and the university.

At 6:30 PM, Dean Dai and President Li gathered with over twenty alumni from Fuzhou at the Xihu Hotel, where they enjoyed a warm dinner together, feeling like family. Dean Dai briefly introduced the latest achievements of the college in talent cultivation and scientific research, expressing deep gratitude for the strong support alumni have provided for the development of the college’s disciplines. Dean Dai stated that in line with the new round of “Double First-Class” construction goals for discipline development, they will continue to accelerate the establishment of an excellent discipline in optical engineering, striving to become a high ground for technological innovation, discipline development, and talent cultivation in the global optoelectronic field, contributing to the national strategy of innovation-driven development and building a world-class scientific and technological power. Dean Dai also informed everyone about the latest planning for the college’s spatial layout. Subsequently, each alumnus introduced themselves and shared their experiences and achievements in their respective fields. Alumni expressed immense pride in witnessing the remarkable achievements of their alma mater.

On August 17, Dean Dai, President Li, and Director Liu Zhengrong of the Development Liaison Office of Zhejiang University visited Fujian Haichuang Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., where alumnus Gao Xiaoli from the Class of 1985 works, for a tour and exchange.
Founded in 2016, Haichuang Optoelectronics is a high-tech enterprise focused on the research and application of optoelectronic technology, providing solutions for the next generation of laser application systems. Its products mainly include laser optical components and laser modules, and it has developed four major business sectors: autonomous driving, industrial lasers, optical communications, and biomedical and other instruments.
Alumnus Gao Xiaoli introduced the development history, industry chain position, main application fields, and related products of Haichuang Optoelectronics to Dean Dai and his team. Dean Dai expressed appreciation for the achievements of Haichuang Optoelectronics in recent years and sincerely invited key technical personnel from the company to engage in in-depth exchanges with relevant teachers at the college.
Accompanied by Gao Xiaoli, Dean Dai and his team toured the production lines on each floor.
Dean Dai presented a commemorative plaque from Zhejiang University to Haichuang Optoelectronics.
After leaving Haichuang Optoelectronics, Dean Dai and his team visited Fujian Fuzhijing Technology Co., Ltd., where alumnus Xie Fali from the Class of 1978 works. Founded in 2001, Fuzhijing is primarily engaged in the research, production, and sales of crystal materials and their devices, with products widely used in the fields of lasers and optical communications. The company has developed various crystal growth technologies, including the molten salt method, pulling method, and aqueous solution method, and is expected to become a leading global supplier of nonlinear optical crystals and laser crystals.
In the company reception hall, former General Manager Xie Fali introduced the company’s structure, development history, application fields, production processes, and industry position to Dean Dai and his team, and led them to tour the crystal production workshop.
This visit to Fuzhou helps to gain a direct understanding of the development status of alumni enterprises, accurately grasp the actual needs of the enterprises, and provide more targeted support for the university and college in talent cultivation and research cooperation. It has profound significance for further strengthening the connection between the university and alumni enterprises and deepening school-enterprise cooperation.
