To be honest, I’ve been a bit anxious lately.
With the Honor X70 joining the OLED camp, the options for LCD screens have decreased again.
As someone who works outdoors extensively, I particularly appreciate the low-frequency PWM dimming and display performance of LCD screens in sunlight. Today, I want to share three outstanding LCD smartphones that will still be competitive in 2025.

Best Value: iQOO Z10x
The hottest phone in the market recently is the iQOO Z10x. Calling it the “ceiling of LCD” is not an exaggeration; the combination of “Dimensity 7300 + UFS 3.1” maintains a starting price of 760 Yuan with a score of over 750,000, which is truly impressive!
The screen is a “6.72-inch Rhine Eye Protection Certified LCD”:
- 1080P resolution + 120Hz refresh rate
- 1050 nits peak brightness
- Hardware-level DC dimming
What surprised me the most was the battery life; the combination of “6500mAh + 44W fast charging” is quite generous for this price range. Plus, it has a thickness of only 8.09mm and weighs 204g, making it feel light in hand.

Businessman’s Choice: vivo Y300t
If you, like me, often need to swipe company access cards and bus cards, then you should check out the vivo Y300t. It shares the same mold as the Z10x but includes “full-function NFC”, which is quite rare among current LCD models.
The core configuration is identical to the Z10x, but the price is slightly higher:
- 8+128GB version “836 Yuan”
- 8+256GB version “912 Yuan”
- 12+256GB version “1108 Yuan”
- Top version “1261 Yuan”

However, the absence of dual speakers is a bit disappointing. But for professionals who use NFC daily, this might be the most suitable LCD model available right now.
Student’s Choice: Meizu Note 16
Recently, many students have asked me: “I have a budget of only 600 Yuan and want to buy a reliable LCD phone, do you have any recommendations?” I always recommend the Meizu Note 16.
At a price of “594 Yuan”, it is incredibly affordable, yet the specifications are anything but cheap.
The “Unisoc T8200” chip may not be well-known, but it is sufficient for daily use.
With a “6.78-inch 1080P + 120Hz” LCD screen, watching shows and anime is a breeze. Moreover, the screen’s “1050 nits” peak brightness is truly commendable at this price point.

What impresses me the most is that Meizu has managed to include a “6600mAh” large battery and “40W” fast charging at this price, along with “IP65 dust and water resistance” certification, making it a perfect choice for students.
Lightweight Performance: Honor X60
If you, like me, carry your phone around all day, the Honor X60 is definitely worth considering. With a body thickness of “7.88mm” and a weight of “189g”, it takes up no space in your bag.
The configuration is also impressive:
- “Dimensity 7025 + UFS 3.1” performance combination
- “5800mAh + 35W” battery solution
- “6.8-inch LCD” eye protection screen
- “850 nits” overall brightness

What’s great is its drop resistance, with a “2-meter drop height” and “SGS gold standard certification”, which is quite rare in lightweight phones. The prices for the three versions are “917 Yuan / 1216 Yuan / 1368 Yuan”, offering excellent value for money.
Tablet Alternative: A New Approach
To be honest, there are indeed fewer and fewer LCD phones now.
But I recently discovered a new idea: using an LCD tablet as the main device.
Currently, the “iPad mini A17 Pro” and “Lenovo Y700” are both good options.
Based on my experience, LCD screens perform more stably under outdoor sunlight, especially for e-books and document processing, providing better eye protection than OLED.

Buying Recommendations: 2025 Smartphone Selection Guide
After this round of comparisons, I have a simple purchasing formula for everyone:
- Budget under 900: Meizu Note 16 is a solid value choice
- 900-1200: Choose between iQOO Z10x or vivo Y300t
- Seeking lightweight: Honor X60 is indeed appealing
Finally, I want to say, don’t be constrained by the idea that “LCD is low-end”. In specific scenarios, the advantages of LCD can be more pronounced. Choosing what suits you best is what truly matters!
