Dilan Technology has confirmed that it will unveil the RX Vega 56 Nano Edition graphics card at the Taipei Computer Show in June.

Regarding the NANO graphics card, many DIY enthusiasts are likely familiar with it. AMD was the first to use HBM memory, packaging the Fiji core with HBM memory, allowing for a very compact PCB design. This made it possible for gamers to have a high-performance mini graphics card. Although the R9 Fury series graphics cards did not sell well due to low memory production and high costs, it is undeniable that the R9 NANO graphics card became an undisputed star card at the time due to its innovative design and compact appearance.

However, a compact PCB also means limited cooling capacity, which is critical for high-heat graphics cards. The most direct result is that the graphics card often throttles, leading to unstable performance. AMD may have considered this factor, realizing that the NANO graphics card has always been a niche product, and thus did not release an RX Vega NANO graphics card in the new generation RX Vega series. Despite this, we have already seen that the PCB for the NANO version has been designed and produced in the Dilan RX Vega 56.

Nonetheless, there are still many consumers who prefer compact high-performance graphics cards. The absence of a new generation NANO graphics card is indeed a regret, but this regret may soon be filled by Dilan Technology. The RX Vega 56 Nano Edition that Dilan is set to release is not an official SKU from AMD, but rather a custom version made by Dilan, likely using the same PCB as the Dilan RX Vega 56. At the Taipei event, Dilan will showcase the RX Vega 56 Nano Edition in mini PCs and graphics card docks like the Devil Box and Gaming Station, demonstrating its optimal compatibility.
The RX Vega 56 is one of the most energy-efficient AMD graphics cards in recent years, with an energy efficiency ratio slightly higher than the cost-effective RX 470D. Therefore, we can expect that the RX Vega 56 Nano Edition will not lose too much performance due to cooling issues. Considering that the RX Vega 56’s performance surpasses that of the GTX 1070, it is estimated that the RX Vega 56 Nano Edition will have performance comparable to or slightly lower than the GTX 1070.
