Technology Competition | Our College Achieves Historic Best Performance in Embedded Design Competition
On July 15, 2025, the National Finals of the China College Computer Competition – Embedded Design Competition successfully concluded at Beijing University of Technology. This year’s finals were held offline, gathering 60 top teams from seven major competition regions across the country, with a total of6 special awards, 12 first prizes, and 18 second prizes.
Our school’s four participating teams from the School of Electronic Engineering performed excellently in the finals, fully demonstrating solid technical foundations and distinctive characteristics of the petroleum industry. All four teams returned with honors,winning 1 national special award, 2 first prizes, and 1 second prize. This not only refreshed our school’s historical best performance in this competition but also achieved breakthroughs in both the level and quantity of awards, ranking among the top in a highly competitive region!
About the “China College Computer Competition”
The “China College Computer Competition” is a national-level A-class discipline competition co-founded by the Ministry of Education’s Teaching Guidance Committee for Computer Majors and the National Association for Computer Education in Higher Education. Its Embedded Design Competition evolved from the “Bo Chuang Cup” National College Student Embedded Design Competition established in 2005. Over nearly twenty years of development, it has attracted over ten thousand teams to participate, becoming one of the largest and most influential competitions in the fields of embedded systems, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and robotics in China. The competition aims to promote the reform of talent training models in related majors at universities, enhance the quality of education and teaching, cultivate students’ innovation and entrepreneurship abilities, and provide urgently needed talents in integrated circuit design and embedded applications for the country. It is a public welfare competition highly favored by teachers and students in universities.
Our College’s Emphasis on the “China College Computer Competition”
At the beginning of 2025, with the careful organization of the Academic Affairs Office and the School of Electronic Engineering, as well as strong support from our college leadership, our students actively registered for the competition. Since the competition guidelines were released on February 21, the participating faculty and student teams have devoted themselves to the design, development, and optimization of their projects. After months of dedicated research, from the school competition selection to breaking through to the provincial competition, the projects have been continuously refined and upgraded, laying a solid foundation for achieving breakthrough results in the national finals. The remarkable achievements in this competition are the fruitful results of the School of Electronic Engineering’s long-term efforts to deepen educational reform and focus on enhancing students’ practical innovation capabilities. This achievement strongly validates the effectiveness of our talent training path.
Our college actively explores a closed-loop training system of “theoretical learning – practical operation – holiday expansion” through the training model of “promoting teaching and learning through competitions” and vigorously implements an innovative training model of “promoting teaching and learning through competitions.” By actively organizing participation in high-level discipline competitions, our college strives to build a quality platform for students to explore the forefront of electronics, stimulate innovative potential, and hone practical skills.
The award-winning students expressed heartfelt sentiments: “The systematic practical platform provided by our college and the dedicated involvement of our guiding teachers were the key supports that enabled our team to stand out.” With the continuous care and strong support from various departments of the school, the School of Electronic Engineering will unwaveringly deepen the reform of practical teaching, continuously optimize the innovative talent training mechanism, and continue to strengthen the cultivation of students’ practical innovation capabilities.
