On the morning of March 9, a representative from the Pingyin office of China Tower Company presented a banner embroidered with “People’s Police, Tower Guardian” to the Pingyin County Public Security Bureau, expressing gratitude for the timely resolution of the case and the recovery of losses.
Since the municipal and county public security agencies launched the “Two Thefts and One Fraud” spring crime resolution campaign, the Pingyin County Public Security Bureau has adhered to the city bureau’s goal of “solving every property crime case” and firmly established the work philosophy of “Preventing the epidemic and maintaining stability, both hands on deck, both must be strong,” comprehensively enhancing the sense of security and satisfaction among the local populace, and maximizing the protection of the property safety of the people in the area. Under the condition of zero reported theft cases in the jurisdiction, they have made every effort to investigate previous case leads.
On February 23, an employee of the Pingyin Tower Company reported that the wireless module at the base station located on the mountain near Luzhong Kangqiao in the county was stolen, valued at over 5000 yuan.
After receiving the report, the criminal police team, in collaboration with the Yushan Second Division and the practical command center, quickly initiated an investigation and promptly connected two other theft cases of wireless modules from base stations near the west side of the hospital and Wan Mall. The investigating officers overcame unfavorable conditions such as the lack of surveillance and uncertain timing of the incidents. After the case reached a deadlock, they quickly shifted their investigative approach, adjusted their direction, and narrowed the time frame of the crimes. Through relentless efforts, the officers discovered a suspicious man wearing a mask who appeared multiple times at different crime scenes on an electric bike. With the assistance of the traffic police and the practical command center, they successfully identified the suspect as Yuan Mouyou (male, from Dongping County). In the early hours of March 5, the officers arrested Yuan Mouyou at his residence.
During the interrogation, the suspect Yuan Mouyou confessed to his involvement in the theft of base station equipment at three locations: Luzhong Kangqiao, the west side of the hospital, and near Wan Mall. After the officers used emotional appeals and logical reasoning during the interrogation, the suspect further confessed to committing five thefts of tower company base station equipment in the jurisdiction of the Jingshui and Yushan offices in Pingyin County.
Currently, the suspect Yuan Mouyou has been subjected to criminal coercive measures, and the case is under further investigation.
