Smart Robots Drive Innovation in the Construction Industry
Current Status and Future Outlook
Recently, the Smart Construction Engineering College invited Li Pan, the Product Development Director of China Construction Future Intelligent Manufacturing Technology Co., Ltd., to hold a special lecture themed “Overview of the Robot Industry Development and Empowering Applications in Construction.” This lecture focused on how robotic technology is driving the intelligent transformation of the construction industry, attracting nearly two hundred faculty and students to discuss the innovative applications of robotic technology in enhancing construction efficiency, ensuring operational safety, and alleviating labor shortages.
During the lecture, Director Li explained in detail the evolution of robotic technology from simple mechanical arms in the 1950s to the current integration of deep learning and autonomous decision-making technologies, achieving a leap from single-task operations to complex environmental tasks. He elaborated on the classification and characteristics of industrial, service, and special robots based on relevant standards. He emphasized that construction robots, as a new force in the industry, are liberating human labor through human-robot collaboration and attracting young talent, thereby reshaping the construction landscape. Looking ahead, with the deep integration of 5G, AI, and IoT technologies, construction robots will make significant strides towards multi-modal perception, collaborative clusters, and the integration of materials, design, and construction.
The Smart Construction Engineering College is responding to the changes of the times by focusing on cultivating students’ practical abilities and innovative spirit. Through school-enterprise cooperation and project training, students accumulate experience in practice, laying a solid foundation for their future career development. The students of the Smart Construction Engineering College will also bravely take on the responsibility of pioneering innovation, actively striving to explore new possibilities for industry development.
