In the context of the Internet of Everything, the Internet of Things (IoT) is rapidly developing, and the scale of IoT smart devices and data far exceeds the defensive capabilities of traditional internet security architectures. The security issues of IoT smart devices and cloud services pose significant challenges to the construction and popularization of IoT. Embedded systems are the core and foundation of the IoT, facing numerous security threats, including hardware security, firmware security, communication security, and data security. Therefore, there is a need for innovative and targeted new information security technologies, solutions, and security products to address these issues.
After three successful years of the Embedded System Security Forum, the Shanghai Embedded System Security Forum has become a highly influential international event in the embedded systems industry.The 2018 Fourth Embedded System Security Forum will be held on November 1 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, with the morning session focusing on embedded system security and the afternoon session on IoT system security.
The forum will invite research institutes, industry experts, and university professors to participate in discussions, technical analyses, and dialogues, promoting technical exchanges and providing ideas for industry development. During the forum, there will also be an Embedded System Security Exhibition, where the organizing committee will provide standard exhibition booths for participating companies to showcase the latest and most forward-looking embedded and IoT security technologies, products, solutions, training services, and books.

In 2015, during the China Electronics Show in Shanghai, the first Embedded System Security Forum was successfully held, organized by China Electronics Corporation and the Science and Education Committee of China Electronics Industry Group, undertaken by China Electronics Exhibition and Information Communication Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the Embedded Systems Branch of China Software Industry Association and the China Embedded Systems Association. The forum invited experts and scholars from ARM China, Freescale, Texas Instruments, NXP, IAR Sweden, Lanzhou University, and Nagoya University in Japan to participate in speeches, focusing on hot topics such as embedded system security architecture, processor security technology, secure development and certification tools, and application-oriented embedded security solutions.
In 2016, the second Embedded System Security Forum invited leading companies and industry experts from Germany’s TUV Rheinland China Group, WITTENSTEIN in the UK, ARM China, Texas Instruments, Bosch Group ETAS, NXP, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Shanghai Qingke to participate in speeches, focusing on hot topics such as functional safety technology, embedded secure operating systems, secure payments, and IoT security analysis and practice.
In 2017, the third Embedded System Security Forum invited leading companies and industry experts from Beihang University, STMicroelectronics, Arm Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Texas Instruments, Nagoya University in Japan, TUV SUD, Shanghai Zhaoxin, Shenzhen Quanzhida, and Green Alliance Technology in Beijing to participate in speeches, focusing on hot topics such as automotive electronic system security, IoT and industrial information security, smart hardware and smartphone security, as well as security chips, software, tools, and functional safety technology and certification services for embedded systems.
