This February, Samsung officially launched its new flagship smartphone series—the Samsung Galaxy S23. In this generation of flagship updates, Samsung changed its chip deployment strategy.
It is reported that in previous flagship series, Samsung generally offered versions equipped with self-developed chips. However, the entire Samsung Galaxy S23 series is equipped with the second-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform (for Galaxy). This has led to speculation about whether Samsung will directly abandon the deployment of self-developed chips in its devices. Nevertheless, subsequent reports indicate that Samsung has not given up on the development of self-developed chips, and related products are still under development. As time progresses, news about the new generation Samsung Exynos 2400 chip has also begun to emerge in large quantities. According to a recent report from Sina Mobile, “Netizens shared the clock frequency information of the Samsung Exynos 2400 chip, indicating that the efficiency core frequency has increased compared to previously leaked specifications.”
According to previous reports, the Samsung Exynos 2400 chip will adopt a 1+2+3+4 ten-core design, including: 1 [email protected] core, 2 [email protected] cores, 3 [email protected] cores, and 4 [email protected] cores. The latest leaked information shows that this chip will include 1 [email protected] core, 2 [email protected] cores, 3 [email protected] cores, and 4 [email protected] cores.
Related leaks confirm that at least the European version of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will use the Exynos 2400 chip. Other versions of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series are expected to still be equipped with the customized Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, which is the third-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform (for Galaxy). According to digital blogger @数码闲聊站, the third-generation Snapdragon 8 mobile platform (for Galaxy) will be built on TSMC’s N4P process, featuring 1 Cortex X4 super core at 3.3GHz, 3 A720 big cores at 3.15GHz, 2 A720 big cores at 2.96GHz, and 2 A520 small cores at 2.27GHz, equipped with an Adreno 750 GPU.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S24+ equipped with this chip has appeared in the GeekBench benchmark database, scoring 2233 points in single-core and 6661 points in multi-core tests for version 6.1.0. Additionally, numerous leaks regarding other configurations of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series smartphones have also emerged. According to current information, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series will include the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra models. Blogger @i冰宇宙 has leaked that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature an approximately 6.8-inch (actual 6.78 inches) display with a resolution of 3120*1440, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, and a peak brightness of 2500 nits.
At the same time, this blogger stated that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is likely to adopt a flat-screen design, with dimensions of 162.3mm×79mm×8.6mm.
Another leak from @i冰宇宙 also mentioned that the 3x telephoto lens of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has been upgraded to 50 million pixels, with a sensor size similar to IMX858, while the 10x sensor parameters remain unchanged, and the main camera and ultra-wide camera remain the same. The new camera module protrudes about 2mm, while the body weight and battery capacity remain unchanged, as does the charging power.
For reference, the previous generation Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 3088 x 1440 (slightly curved QHD+), a peak brightness of 1750 nits, and supports an adaptive refresh rate of 1~120Hz; its dimensions are 163.4×78.1×8.9mm, weighing 233 grams; it has a rear quad-camera setup, including a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 200MP wide camera, a 10MP 10x optical zoom telephoto camera, and a 10MP 3x optical zoom telephoto camera; it is equipped with a 5000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S24+ is expected to adopt the M13 panel, with a screen resolution of 3120×1440 and a peak brightness of 2500 nits.
Based on the current information, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to mainly bring upgrades in display, performance, and imaging. However, there is still a considerable amount of time before the official release of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, and the actual situation may change, so interested parties can stay tuned.
