In terms of graphics, the major Broadcom “V3D” driver stack continues to improve on its Mesa Gallium3D driver and nearly supports OpenGL ES 3.1.
The latest reported Raspberry Pi 4 Model B has better mainline support, which is Linux firmware. Git has added NVRAM files for the BCM43455 of Raspberry Pi 4 based on its WiFi/Bluetooth module requirements. This is the first addition to the linux-firmware.git for Raspberry Pi 4 this week.
The ongoing mainline work, coupled with recent thermal/power improvements, puts this budget-friendly ARM SBC in a better position before the 2020 Linux release. By the time Ubuntu 20.04 LTS is released, we expect to see better support.
