As the next generation of new trends approaches, leaks regarding the specifications of new processors are also increasing. Today, digital blogger Digital Chat Station revealed some information about the MediaTek Dimensity 8500.

As a mid-range processor in the new generation of MediaTek Dimensity series, this source claims that the chip will still use TSMC’s 4nm process, with little change in the full big core architecture, and the Mali G720 GPU has been enhanced, with AnTuTu benchmark scores set at 200W+. It is also indicated that the first model to feature this chip is expected to be from the REDMI Turbo series.

For reference, the current MediaTek Dimensity 8400 was released last December, utilizing the Cortex-A725 full big core architecture, with a maximum frequency of 3.25GHz. Official announcements stated that single-core performance improved by 10% compared to the previous generation, with power consumption reduced by 35%. The CPU multi-core performance increased by 41% compared to the previous generation chip. The second-level cache was doubled, and the third-level cache increased by 50%. In terms of GPU, it features the Arm Mali-G720 GPU, with peak GPU performance improved by 24% compared to the previous generation chip, and power consumption reduced by 42%. The AnTuTu score for the Dimensity 8400 is generally around 1.8 million points, and based on current leaks, the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 appears to be a routine upgrade.
The MediaTek Dimensity 8500 is expected to be unveiled next year.
