The Amazfit GTR3 smartwatch comes in a square box, with small text on the front describing its product features: digital crown design, 24-hour daily health monitoring, strong battery life, and equipped with Huami’s self-developed smartwatch operating system, Zepp OS, which is not only compatible with various configurations but also achieves low power consumption and long battery life, making it very promising!
The box opens like a lid, and upon opening, you see the main character—the obsidian black color is very suitable for men, while there is also a mica gray option for women. “UP YOUR GAME” is Amazfit’s latest brand slogan, which encourages people to pay more attention to health, aligning with the product’s characteristics.
The accessories of the Amazfit GTR3 smartwatch include a manual and a USB magnetic charging cable, which is simple yet satisfactory.
Many smart products now prefer magnetic charging, which not only eliminates the need for large ports on the products but also allows for easy charging with just a gentle pull, making it very convenient.
The back of the Amazfit GTR3 smartwatch features not only the magnetic charging pads but also chips that monitor body metrics.
The strap is designed for quick release at both ends, allowing users to change the strap without tools, which is considerate of the user experience. The buckle at the end of the strap is designed with a double layer and features the logo, so there’s no need to worry about the strap coming off.
The Amazfit GTR3 features a sleek design with a glossy curved glass and aerospace-grade aluminum, with a thickness of about 10.6mm and a total weight of only 49.4g, providing a very lightweight wearing experience.

My dad is a detail-oriented person, and the Amazfit GTR3 also excels in detail handling. The upper crown is a digital crown with CNC-engraved textures, allowing for rotational control of the dial, paired with a linear motor for a delicate touch that enables power on/off and function switching. The lower crown serves as a sports shortcut key, with over 150 sports modes available, including esports, swimming, trail running, and alpine skiing, designed for sports enthusiasts.

Thanks to Huami’s self-developed operating system, Zepp OS, it achieves low power consumption, offering a daily battery life of up to 21 days, 35 days of ultra-long battery life with basic use, and even 10 days of robust performance under heavy usage, alleviating battery anxiety.
App Experience:
Long press the upper right crown to power on. When the “amazfit” logo appears, it’s quite impressive. The 1.39-inch AMOLED retina display has a resolution of 454*454, 326ppi, and a maximum brightness of 1000nit, with a regular brightness of 500nit, providing a very delicate display.
After powering on, you need to download the Zepp app to link with your phone. Rather than just being a smartwatch app, Zepp is more like a professional fitness app, which was quite surprising to me. While exercising, it also offers heart rate monitoring and fitness courses, broadening my horizons.
The Xiaomi Mi Band Youth Edition I previously purchased also appeared in my devices, and through the app, I can not only save exercise records but also track physiological metrics, allowing me to understand my health status and adjust my exercise regimen at any time.

Feature Introduction:
The Amazfit GTR3, with its silicone strap, leans towards a sporty style, and users can match it with different outfits by changing the watch face or using quick-release straps; for instance, a brown leather strap would look much more mature.
The raise-to-wake feature is very responsive, conserving battery life while the screen is off, making it a practical feature.
In the main interface, you can swipe left and right to access submenus, including step tracking, heart rate monitoring, weather forecasts, health metrics, sleep monitoring, and the function list (like mobile payment QR codes, etc.).The 1.39-inch AMOLED ultra-high-definition retina display lets every detail of life shine through, and the touch response is very smooth, with details displayed very clearly.
Of course, on the standby interface, you can also access the watch function menu through the upper right crown, which is very convenient.
The intricately designed digital crown finally has its use; rotating it controls the function menu, and the feedback from the linear motor is soft, providing a mechanical feel similar to manual winding in mechanical watches.
For a smartwatch focused on sports features, monitoring exercise modes is essential. The addition of a shortcut button is like adding wings; pressing the lower right crown allows access to the exercise list.The Amazfit GTR3 has over 150 exercise modes built-in, including outdoor running, swimming, hiking, skiing, and even jump rope mode, tailored for sports enthusiasts like myself.
The sleep monitoring metrics are very intuitive, and by sliding down, you can view sleep quality. In the image above, my deep sleep time is 39 minutes, accounting for 11.1% of my total sleep time, indicating average sleep quality.
Usage Testing:
Quick Watch Face Change:
With over 100 watch faces, if I had to change them every time on the mobile app, it would be quite inconvenient. Therefore, Amazfit GTR3 allows direct changes on the watch; I just need to upload my favorite watch face to the watch, long-press the face to find my preferred one, and change it.
Quick Settings:
The Amazfit GTR3 is quite user-friendly; on the standby page, simply swipe down to access the quick settings menu. Features like flashlight mode, do not disturb mode, theater mode, screen time settings, calendar, brightness settings, power-saving mode, find phone, screen lock, and settings can all be accessed with one click, eliminating the need to search through the settings list in the future, which is very convenient.
Message Notifications:
The app can set notifications and reminders for the watch, including calls, SMS, app notifications, and stand reminders. When a call or message comes in, I don’t need to pull out my phone to check, which is very convenient.
While the Amazfit GTR3 cannot answer calls directly, it can receive call notifications and allows for call rejection, making it very convenient.
Exercise Features:
In exercise mode, for example, when selecting jump rope, the watch counts by sets, simultaneously tracking time, heart rate, calorie consumption, etc., allowing me to have a detailed grasp of my current exercise progress and physiological functions, which helps in planning the next exercise regimen.
For every 300 times as a set, the watch vibrates to remind me when I reach the target, and it records exercise duration, average frequency, and total rest time between sets. Regular exercisers know that combining body metrics with a tailored exercise regimen is essential for achieving better fitness results.
Health Monitoring:
The watch can measure blood oxygen and heart rate individually, and the measurement results can be viewed in real-time, which is generally quite accurate.
It can also measure heart rate, heart health, stress, blood oxygen, and respiratory rate with one click, allowing me to quickly understand my body metrics, which is a very useful feature.
Weather Forecast:
In the weather interface, you can view real-time air quality, the weather forecast for the next five days, whether it is suitable for outdoor exercise, UV index, etc., which is very user-friendly.
Music Control:
While connected to the phone, the Amazfit GTR3 can control the phone’s music player, allowing for pause, fast forward, and rewind directly from the watch. It has been tested to work with QQ Music, NetEase Cloud Music, and MOO Music.
Water Resistance Test:
The Amazfit GTR3 supports professional-level water resistance up to 50 meters, making it suitable for daily wear, swimming, and snowy weather without fear of sweat. However, it is not advisable to try it in hot water environments like showers. In the image above, I submerged the Amazfit GTR3 in a pool for 5 minutes without any issues, proving its waterproof capabilities and giving me peace of mind!
Battery Life:
While the magnetic charging method of the Amazfit GTR3 is very convenient, battery life is still a significant concern for users. After all, most people cannot tolerate devices like the Apple Watch that require daily charging. Thanks to the power optimization of Zepp OS, I charged it fully on the 16th and still had 49% battery left on the 23rd, even with heavy usage over those days. Two weeks of battery life is definitely not an issue.
With normal daily use, the battery can last up to 21 days, and by enabling power-saving mode, which only records steps and basic sleep information, it can achieve an ultra-long battery life of 35 days, saving time and worry.
Notification Viewing:
With the increasing number of apps on phones, it’s crucial to stay updated on important notifications.The Amazfit GTR3 allows you to filter app notifications on the watch, ensuring that you never miss important messages while not displaying unnecessary ones—a very user-friendly design.
You can directly swipe up on the standby interface to enter the notification list and view the details of past notifications, ensuring that I don’t miss any important messages.
Quick Payment and NFC:
As a time-saving and worry-free smartwatch, the Amazfit GTR3 includes quick payment functionality. By swiping left on the watch, you can access the quick function list, with quick payment being the first option, compatible with both Alipay and WeChat. Just lift your wrist for offline quick payment, which is incredibly convenient.
I can set up the NFC virtual card function in the mobile app to use the Amazfit GTR3 as a transit card or access card, making travel more convenient.
Mini Program Installation and Other Features:
By opening the “more” option in the function list, you will find that the Amazfit GTR3 is packed with features, including a sun and moon tracker, compass, barometric altimeter, menstrual cycle tracker, breathing exercises, stopwatch, countdown, find phone, and more than a dozen other features. The Amazfit GTR3 is truly the smartwatch with the most pre-installed functions I have ever seen.
