On April 6, Dongfeng Motor announced that its domestically produced, independently controllable high-performance automotive-grade MCU chip DF30 has completed its first tape-out verification and is about to begin automotive-grade validation, with plans for mass production and market launch next year. The DF30 chip is the industry’s first high-performance automotive-grade MCU chip developed based on an independently open-source RISC-V multi-core architecture, using a 40nm automotive-grade process, achieving a fully closed-loop domestic process, with a functional safety level reaching ASIL-D. This chip features four major characteristics: high performance, strong controllability, ultra-safety, and extreme reliability, having passed 295 strict tests, including basic tests, stress tests, and application tests.
