Hello everyone Welcome to today’s Baiwen
This afternoon, Samsung officially released
the flagship mobile processor Exynos 1080
This is Samsung’s first flagship chip using the 5nm EUV FinFET process
Compared to Samsung’s 7nm process
The 5nm process increases transistor density by over 80%
which can deliver stronger performance and lower power consumption
Compared to 7nm DUV
performance is improved by 7% and power consumption is reduced by 18%
Moreover, the Exynos 1080 CPU
adopts the latest flagship ARM Cortex-A78 CPU core from 2020
This is the world’s first 5nm Cortex A78 CPU
It is a fourth-generation high-end CPU based on DynamIQ technology
Under the same power consumption
its performance is 20% higher than A77
while at the same performance level
A78 saves 50% more energy than A77
The Samsung Exynos 1080 adopts a 1+3+4 tri-cluster architecture
Specifically,
the octa-core CPU combines one Cortex-A78 core
(with a maximum frequency of 2.8GHz)
three high-performance Cortex-A78 cores
and four efficient Cortex-A55 cores
The official states that this powerful core combination
is optimized for new form factors
and can provide the performance needed for multitasking
making its CPU performance nearly
twice that of the previous generation Exynos 980
In addition, the GPU adopts the latest flagship Mali-G78 GPU core from ARM 2020
with performance improved by up to 25% compared to Mali-G77
In terms of benchmark scores, the Samsung Exynos 1080 has been exposed to score as high as 693600 on AnTuTu
making it one of the highest scoring processor platforms in the world
More importantly, the Exynos 1080
integrates Samsung’s latest 5G NSA/SA dual-mode modem
This modem supports download speeds of up to 5.1Gbps
Additionally, it supports WiFi 6 technology
and can support up to 200 million pixels
and up to 6 cameras operating simultaneously
This chip is expected to debut with the VIVO X60 series What do you think of this chip? Feel free to leave your comments below and interact with us
