To deeply promote the construction of medical communities and effectively enhance the accessibility of grassroots medical services, the Wenshan City Medical Community General Hospital Zhenhua Branch has innovated its service model by establishing an embedded medical consultation service point in the Zhenhua Community Julong Haoting residential area. Through regular free consultations and health education, residents can enjoy high-quality medical services right at their doorstep. Recently, this service point hosted its first large-scale multidisciplinary joint consultation event.
This consultation event brought together high-quality medical resources from the Wenshan City Medical Community General Hospital and Zhenhua Branch, with a service team composed of experts from various disciplines including endocrinology, cardiology, emergency medicine, general practice, traditional Chinese medicine, and preventive health care. At the event, experts provided free blood pressure and blood sugar tests, physical examinations, traditional Chinese medicine pulse diagnosis, and massage services, as well as personalized guidance on chronic disease prevention and traditional Chinese health maintenance knowledge. The event served over 100 residents and distributed more than 150 health education materials.
Before the consultation, experts from the endocrinology and cardiology departments of the general hospital conducted an engaging and practical health lecture for community residents. The experts used simple language and typical case studies to explain chronic disease prevention and treatment knowledge, focusing on daily precautions and health management points. Residents actively asked questions about their health issues, and the experts provided professional answers, creating a lively atmosphere.
“In the past, I had to go to a big hospital to see a specialist, but now the specialists come to my doorstep, which is so convenient!” said Mr. Li, a community resident, happily after receiving consultation services. Many residents expressed that the establishment of the embedded consultation service point not only provided them with convenient medical services but also taught them practical health knowledge, allowing them to truly feel the benefits brought by the construction of the medical community.
It is reported that the embedded consultation service point at Zhenhua Branch will establish a long-term working mechanism to regularly provide on-site services for residents; invite experts from the general hospital to conduct themed consultations every month; and establish health records for residents to provide continuous health management services. In the next step, based on residents’ needs, services such as rehabilitation guidance and medication consultation will be expanded, truly achieving the goal of “minor illnesses do not leave the community, and health stays at the doorstep.”
The successful implementation of this event is a beneficial attempt by the Wenshan City Medical Community to promote the sinking of high-quality medical resources and innovate service models. By establishing community embedded medical service points, it not only bridges the “last mile” of medical services but also constructs a full-cycle health service chain of “prevention – diagnosis – rehabilitation,” exploring new paths to enhance grassroots medical service capabilities and increase public satisfaction with medical services.
