Welcome to the AI Science Popularization series! From traditional physical keys for unlocking to today’s facial recognition unlocking, from manually switching lights to voice-activated smart lighting, the intelligence of home technology has improved people’s quality of life. So what is a smart home? What artificial intelligence technologies are utilized in smart homes? In this issue, we will decode the concept, components, and the artificial intelligence technologies applied in smart homes.
Various Devices in Smart Homes
1. Concept
Smart homes primarily utilize integrated wiring, security and theft prevention, automatic control, and network communication technologies to establish an efficient residential facility management system, making it secure, comfortable, convenient, and achieving an environmentally friendly and energy-saving living environment.
2. Components
The components of a smart home include three essential systems and five optional systems. As shown in the figure below, a smart home environment is recognized only when all essential systems are fully installed, and at least one optional system is selected.
