With a usable area of 78㎡, various wall colors, and multiple built-in designs, this home appears beautiful and infinitely spacious. Before we start, let me ask a few questions:
Designer: Did you hire a designer for this home?
Owner: Since I work in a design studio, strictly speaking, my friends and I completed the design of the house together.
Designer: Why did you choose to use multiple colors on one wall?
Owner: It feels like a dessert, making you feel that home is not dull, and your mood can be very good at any time.
Designer: Where did you spend the most thought during the renovation?
Owner: The materials used. Because I used kd boards from Taiwan that don’t require paint at all, I understand the importance of environmental protection for a family. Even the internal board of the cabinets must be made of the highest environmental grade materials.
Designer: Your home feels very tidy, do you like a minimalist lifestyle?
Owner: I just like my home to be clean and tidy. I actually enjoy the cleaning process, turning on the sound system and listening to my favorite songs.
About Her

House Information
Type: Originally a three-bedroom, one kitchen, one bathroom, now transformed into a two-bedroom, one kitchen, one bathroom
Area: Actual usable area is about 78㎡
Cost: Hard decoration 250,000, soft decoration 40,000
Renovation time: It took quite a long time, about 9 months due to busy work.
Renovation Inspiration: During the renovation process, there were actually changes in style. The original white walls were changed to the current colorful walls, inspired by the various colors of macaron desserts. To me, what cannot be lacking in a home is a sense of warmth; regardless of the style or decorations chosen, what makes you feel warm is the most important.
Entrance
The entrance has a full wall shoe cabinet and a shoe change area because I love buying sneakers, especially white ones. I bring home any good-looking ones, so the shoe cabinet must be large enough to satisfy this hobby.

At the entrance, I bought two bird-shaped hooks from house of heddy, which echo the overall shoe cabinet color and the white wall.
Living Room
The living room has hardly been renovated; the TV wall is quite special, utilizing the wall thickness to create a built-in TV cabinet, as the living room depth is only 3.5m, which is very narrow, and I wanted a wider sofa, so I didn’t waste even 20cm. The wooden floor is from Shengxiang, which is not recommended for the humid city of Chengdu as it is prone to deformation.

The wall color scheme comes from the inspiration of my designer friend. At that time, my friend just asked me one question, how about a color scheme on the wall? I said as long as it looks good, so the current appearance appeared. The effect I wanted to achieve is also a macaron color scheme, creating a relaxed and lively atmosphere.

The standard for choosing a sofa is that it should look good and be comfortable, so I recommend going to a physical store to buy it. Other things just need to look good and have decent materials, so I basically bought them from Taobao; the typewriter is a gift from a friend.

TV wall details: Because the living room is very narrow, if I put a TV cabinet, it will appear very crowded, so the TV cabinet utilizes the wall thickness to create a TV cabinet on-site, and can also hide the excess wires.
Dining Room
I love the dining room and kitchen on the right side of the entrance; the dining room and kitchen are about 20㎡, and then the kitchen, dining room, and living room are all connected, making the entire public space very transparent.

On the right side of the dining room is a living balcony, which contains a storage cabinet and an embedded washing machine area; the key to embedded design is to understand the size of the embedded appliances before designing, which is both beautiful and practical, saving space. The upper countertop can also be used as a working surface, made of marble.

The dining island area feels like a space where you can fully express yourself; I usually like to mix cocktails, and sometimes I create beautiful plating for breakfast. Perhaps I really enjoy a life with a sense of ceremony, and this area feels like the most suitable place for that mindset in the whole house.

The white cabinet behind the island mainly serves storage purposes; the two horizontal cabinets hold a microwave and store red wine, and the fridge was designed with space reserved for it.

Daily life in the dining room. Usually, it’s just me; I like inviting friends over for dinner, sometimes up to 10 people, and the dining room has no pressure at all, with the island being 2.6m long.
The wall details of the dining room. Although it looks very fresh, the feeling after moving in is excellent and will make your mood beautiful every day.
Kitchen
The kitchen is about 20㎡, connected to the dining room, fully open. I am quite busy and rarely cook, but during my breaks, I love making something myself or inviting friends over for some delicious food.
Range hood: Purchased from JD, Fotile’s Cloud Magic Cube. I must say, this range hood has such strong suction that even when stir-frying crayfish, there is no smell at all, and I don’t even know when it’s done. Highly recommended.
Enamel pot: Purchased from NetEase Yanxuan, priced over 300, and the experience is not much different from La Cocotte’s over 1000 enamel pot, with a very high cost performance.
People in Sichuan love to stir-fry, and the smoke is quite heavy, but as long as you buy a good range hood and set up an exhaust fan on the ceiling, the smoke issue is almost zero pressure. The cabinets were made on-site by workers.
Main Bedroom
The biggest renovation in the main bedroom was merging it with a small bedroom next door to create a suite, while the small bedroom is now used as a walk-in closet. Therefore, the main bedroom has no storage space at all. The bed in the main bedroom was also custom-made as a tatami, with a thick mattress that feels very comfortable.
The bedside cabinet is integrated with the bed, which is very convenient. It holds tissues, remote controls, and other miscellaneous items, making it easy to access, while keeping the inside clutter-free and looking good.
On the other side of the bed is my dog named Lala, who is very obedient and loves to smile~ she is like a moving decoration in the house.

The bedding is purchased from a friend’s self-operated bedding store, and it feels very comfortable, comparable to Muji’s bedding.

This is the walk-in closet connected to the main bedroom, responsible for all the storage tasks of the main bedroom. The cabinets are all wardrobes. As I am very lazy, the white sliding door area is all hanging clothes, while the wooden part is the folding area that also serves as a bookshelf.

The second bedroom is reserved for my mother, as she rarely comes to stay, so it is also made into a tatami style, where I can place some cushions on it to chat with friends, sunbathe, or drink tea. There isn’t much space for the second bedroom because it’s quite small and hard to capture in a full view.
This is the bedside background wall of the second bedroom; the plant is a lemon tree, and if you look closely, there are still two small lemons on it. I have already eaten them, haha, it’s very suitable for indoor cultivation, placed by the window, loves sunlight and water, and is very easy to survive. The wall is wallpapered.
Bathroom
This is the door leading to the bathroom.
Toilet: Grohe
The bathroom is about 3㎡; having dedicated storage cabinets in the bathroom can really solve storage needs. Extra toilet paper, towels, bath towels, and daily necessities can all be placed there.
Additionally, the most recommended in the bathroom: smart toilet. In fact, any smart toilet with smart functions is great. Once you sit down, it will automatically ventilate, so even after you finish, there is no odor in the bathroom. The heated seat function is particularly important in winter, bringing a lot of warmth to your life.
