Rapid Development of Chinese Manufacturing: Smart Home Sector May Become the Next Hotspot

The Global Sources Electronics Show showcases more smart home technologies and products, and the smart home and smart security sectors may welcome a new wave of opportunities.

On April 11, the world’s largest electronics procurement event, the “Global Sources Electronics Show,” opened at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong. This year’s exhibition is divided into two parts: the Consumer Electronics Show and the Mobile Electronics Show, featuring over 6,600 booths showcasing emerging technologies and popular electronic products.

Compared to last year, the scale of the “Smart Living Zone” has further expanded, displaying more smart security, lighting, voice-controlled devices, and entertainment products. This spring exhibition also introduced a new area for bio-devices and smart locks.

Many companies, including Lio Electronics, Silang Industry, Rishenghua Technology, Avatar Intelligent Control, Kexin Jialian, Inspiration Wisdom, Maijia, Mingyiheng, Nanxin, Qixing, Xiangshang, Hailongtong, Zhuoju, Kuke, Huisi Rui, Haibei, Baishitai, Aoni Electronics, Fuhong Electronics, and Queqi Technology, are leveraging the smart product solutions provided by Tuya Smart to empower the traditional home industry and create a new ecosystem for the smart home industry.

Compared to the exhibition in October last year, this year’s exhibition added 100 booths, reaching over 3,800, with the number of booths in the smart living sector significantly increasing to account for 12% of the entire exhibition.

This year’s exhibition showcased more products and technologies in the smart security and smart home sectors. The exhibition also introduced new product launches and display corridors, with Tuya’s smart lock solution becoming a major highlight of the event.

Tuya’s smart lock solution belongs to the smart security product line. In addition to the standard smart lock features such as password unlocking, fingerprint unlocking, and key card unlocking, Tuya’s smart lock can also achieve remote unlocking or interact with Tuya-enabled AI cameras, which boast a facial recognition rate of up to 99.5%, allowing users to unlock the door with facial recognition. Besides security features, Tuya’s smart lock is also very responsive and flexible, equipped with a “stealth alert function.”

Additionally, new technologies and products in smart lighting, smart power strips, smart cameras, and smart remote controls in the smart home and security sectors have attracted significant attention from attendees.

As one of the exhibitors in the smart home sector, Shenzhen Lio Electronics Co., Ltd. initially focused on the network camera field. Established in 2004, it set up a domestic camera R&D center and has obtained multiple national patents, with products certified by national quality inspection departments and international standards such as CE and FCC. Leveraging Tuya Smart’s solutions for sockets, cameras, sensors, etc.,

Lio Electronics’ AI cameras feature precise facial recognition capabilities, garnering attention from multiple companies at this exhibition.

Another exhibitor, Shenzhen Kexin Jialian Technology, also focuses on the R&D and production of smart home products, primarily offering smart touch panel switches, smart sockets, and smart home security products based on Wi-Fi protocols. Currently, it has an independent R&D team of 28 people, with all products patented and certified by CETL, FCC, CE, ROHS, etc., selling to 20 countries across Asia, Europe, America, and Australia. The smart products exhibited, including smart switches, smart sockets, and smart plugs, are powered by Tuya Smart’s solutions, featuring three main functions: countdown, timed switch, and lighting statistics.

Shenzhen Inspiration Wisdom Technology Co., Ltd. is a private enterprise focused on IoT smart electronic products and engineering, dedicated to the R&D of smart electronic products. At this exhibition, Inspiration Wisdom showcased smart lighting products such as bulb lights, light strips, and ambient lights. With technological upgrades, these products not only adjust brightness, color, and color temperature but also feature automation, voice control, and scene settings, attracting a large number of consumers.

Against the backdrop of “Made in China 2025,” more and more traditional manufacturing enterprises in China are continuously transforming and upgrading towards smart manufacturing. Small and medium-sized enterprises represented by Lio Electronics, Rishenghua Technology, and Avatar Intelligent Control are also leveraging artificial intelligence, IoT, and other technologies to drive their transformation and upgrade, moving into the smart home and smart security sectors. With the upgrade of smart products, companies’ products will continue to reach broader markets, and their industry status will continue to rise.

Products in the smart home and smart security sectors are gradually becoming commonplace, entering the public’s view, and the consumer demand for this sector is continuously growing. In the future, more consumers will pay attention to the smart home and smart security sectors, and the corresponding consumer demand will continue to be refined.

On the other hand, capital continues to have a positive outlook on this sector. In October last year, 36Kr reported that the smart home cloud platform Tuya Smart completed a series B financing of hundreds of millions of RMB to upgrade core technologies and implement the AI platform in other scenarios. With continuous capital injection and sustained consumer demand growth, “Made in China” in the smart home and smart security sectors will move more rapidly towards the international market.
