Earlier reports indicated that the release of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 would be slightly earlier than that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (November 16), but the new device is still scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year (October to December). Now, the specifications of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 have gradually been revealed.
According to IT Home citing @Tech_Reve’s leak, the GPU frequency of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 reaches 900MHz, and the CPU’s Cortex-X4 core has a maximum frequency of 3.4GHz. It is also reported that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to be manufactured using TSMC’s N4P process technology, while the next generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be based on TSMC’s N3E process technology.
In terms of benchmark scores, it is reported that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 scores 1800 in single-core and 6500 in multi-core tests on Geekbench 5, while the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 can reach around 2070 in single-core and 9100 in multi-core tests. For reference, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 scores around 1500 in single-core and 5100 in multi-core tests. The authenticity of the leaked scores for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 remains to be verified.
