Jilin University provides a campus-wide license for MATLAB software for students and faculty. Students and faculty can deploy MathWorks products on university-owned and personal computers, including both English and Simplified Chinese versions, and enjoy online resource services. The MATLAB campus version includes both individual and network versions (lab version), where the individual version is suitable for personal computers, and the network version is suitable for laboratories and clusters.

Step 1: Register a MathWorks Account
Note: Please be sure to use your university email to register for a MathWorks account (other emails will not be recognized)
1. Register an account (recommended to use IE browser):
Visit www.mathworks.cn/mwaccount/register and create a MathWorks account using your university email address (****@jlu.edu.cn; ****@mails.jlu.edu.cn; ****@mail.jlu.edu.cn; ).
In the section “How will you use MathWorks software,” teachers and students should select “Teacher/University Researcher” and “Student,” respectively.
2. Verify your email:
Go to your university email, open the verification email, and click “Verify your email address” or “Verify your email.”
Note: For MathWorks accounts registered before December 9, 2020, you need to use the activation key (17585-98972-19708-49618-94938) to manually associate the MATLAB (Individual) license. Click here to learn the specific operation steps.
Step 2: Download the Software

Step 3: Software Installation
Note: For MATLAB R2019b and earlier versions, please refer to this link for the following steps
1. Start the installation software:
The method to start the installation varies slightly by operating system:
Windows: Click setup.exe after extracting.
MacOS: Double-click InstallForMacOSX.app.
Linux: Execute the installation command ./install.
2. Enter your MathWorks account.
Input your registered MathWorks username and password, then click “Log In.”
3. Accept the MathWorks license agreement, then click “Next.”
4. Select the license:
Select the license already associated in the list, labeled “MATLAB (Individual),” then click “Next.”
5. Choose the authentication option.
Select “Activate this computer immediately,” then click “Next.”
6. Confirm user: After confirming the user information is correct, click “Next.”
7. Choose installation path: It is recommended to select the default path.
8. Select products to install: Choose the toolboxes you may need, or select all.
9. Select options:
It is recommended to check “Add shortcut to desktop,” so you can see the shortcut on your desktop after installation.
Then click “Next,” confirm the installation information is correct, and click “Start Installation” and wait for the installation to complete.
