Intelligent Crawler: Use the Arduino UNO R3 development board as the main control chip, use the ultrasonic module as the distance detection sensor, and use servos as the power mechanism for the crawler, utilizing the phase difference of two servos to achieve the crawler’s steering.

Competition Process:

1. All groups will simultaneously create crawlers, and on-site staff will maintain order in the competition area.

2. After each group completes the crawler, they will beautify their crawlers, and on-site staff will take photos and upload them to the WeChat platform for voting. The aesthetic award for the intelligent crawler will be announced one day later.

3. Testing will begin at 5 PM, testing the crawling time of each group’s crawler, and results will be announced to select first, second, and third prizes.

4. Prizes and certificates will be awarded after the competition.

5. Registration Method

(1) Registration format: Team registration, teams can be formed across departments and grades

(2) Team members: 1 captain, 1-2 members

(3) Registration method: Huawei’s “Sleep Before You See the Future” online platform

(4) Registration method: Teams that successfully register should join the intelligent crawler competition group chat 740758766, with a note of “Team Name + Captain/Member + Name”. Register and log in to the Sleep Before platform according to the instructions in the group file (if you already have an account, you can log in directly) and submit your registration on the platform. Based on the registration situation, teams will be screened through the preliminary round. The group number will be announced in the registration group after the final list is confirmed.

(5) Note: If teams in the competition group do not modify their group name card as required or have other violations, they will be disqualified from the competition.

6. Scoring Criteria

The scoring standard is based on a hundred-point system, with the total score composed of preliminary round base score (10 points) + appearance score (20 points) + performance score (70 points).

Scoring details:

Base Score (10 points): 10% of the preliminary written test score.

Appearance Score (20 points):

Judge’s score (10 points): The judges present will give each team a corresponding appearance score based on the actual appearance situation on the day of the competition.

Public score (10 points): The images of the participating teams’ crawlers will be distributed on the WeChat platform of the Student Science Association of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, and all teachers and students can vote voluntarily for one day. The final voting results will be converted into scores and added to the judges’ scores to become the final actual appearance score of each group.

(The top five groups with the highest overall appearance scores will be awarded the aesthetic award.)

Performance Score (70 points):

Straight-line speed (20 points): Can it complete 2 meters in 10 seconds?

Straight-line stability (10 points): Is the crawler stable without rolling over during straight-line movement?

Obstacle avoidance sensitivity (10 points): Can the crawler accurately avoid obstacles?

Steering accuracy (30 points): Can the crawler accurately turn left and right?

One first prize team: 1200 yuan/team

Three second prize teams: 1000 yuan/team

Five third prize teams: 800 yuan/team

Ten design award teams: 500 yuan/team

8. Related Matters

1. Participating teams must register for the fourth Intelligent Crawler Competition at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology on the “Sleep Before You See the Future” platform.

2. Each registered team selects one member to participate in the preliminary round, which is limited to half an hour. Participants in the preliminary round must not cheat in any way. If discovered, the representative team’s qualification will be canceled.

3.If a team has more than one member participating in the preliminary round, the lowest score among the team members will be considered valid.

4. The final will last one day, and each participating team should prepare their own food.

5. Half an hour before the competition starts, team members should enter the competition area. The competition requires power supply equipment, which teams should prepare themselves (e.g., power banks, lithium batteries, dry batteries, etc.).

6. Teams participating in this competition must obey the leadership of the competition organizing committee and abide by all rules.

7.During the competition, participants must obey the unified arrangements of the host and relevant staff.
