A few days ago, an open-source project emerged on Kickstarter, known as Diskio Pi, which is based on the Raspberry Pi, compatible with Raspberry Pi and Odroid, and aims to be the “ultimate open source tablet” kit. The project was initiated by Guillaume Debray, an optical instrument dealer with over 10 years of manufacturing and sales experience, who is also a passionate computer engineer well-versed in programming and hardware assembly. He spent 18 months developing this versatile device based on a single-board computer.
Currently, Diskio Pi is compatible with Raspberry Pi 2 / 3 / Zero, Odroid C1 / C2 SBCs, and can run Ubuntu, Debian, Raspbian Pixel, or Android.
Diskio Pi is a highly modular device, and is 100% based on open-source hardware, making it ideal for users who pursue perfection.
Users do not need to disassemble the device to install a PC board, but it still provides rich GPIO / USB ports for hacking.
Diskio Pi comes standard with a capacitive full HD IPS touchscreen and motherboard, but also offers optional support for a battery pack and the official Raspberry Pi camera module.
The kit is priced at $350 (excluding SBC and battery), approximately 2380 RMB.
