In previous articles, I have mentioned that the current budget smartphone market is quite stagnant, with few products worth recommending. However, after the release of the IQOO Z6x, I believe it slightly changed the landscape of the budget smartphone market because, overall, this phone has several advantages and is not particularly uncomfortable to use. Below, I will discuss this phone and its competitors in detail.

1. Price

Currently, the starting price of the IQOO Z6x is 1199 yuan for the 6GB+128GB version, which does not exceed 1200 yuan, thus can be defined as a budget smartphone.

Some manufacturers may refer to models priced between 1500-2000 yuan as budget smartphones, which is somewhat playing with words. In my personal understanding, budget smartphones should be products priced below 1200 yuan.

2. Performance

The IQOO Z6x is equipped with a Dimensity 810 processor + 6GB RAM + 128GB storage combination. What most people are curious about is the performance of the Dimensity 810 processor.

This processor is a 5G chip built on TSMC’s 6nm process, consisting of 4*A76 (2.4GHz) + 4*A55 (2.0GHz). Its GPU is Mali-G57 MC2. From the specifications, it is evident that the performance of this processor is relatively weak. It can handle daily applications smoothly, especially in the most common scenarios like WeChat and short video applications. However, it struggles with playing large games.

Considering the budget price range, it is likely aimed at elderly users, and the performance of the Dimensity 810 is generally sufficient.

3. Display

The IQOO Z6x features a 6.58-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2408*1080, utilizing global DC dimming and has passed the Rhine low blue light certification. The display quality is average, but it is decent for eye protection.

4. Camera

This phone has a combination of 50MP main camera + macro camera. The main camera has a relatively small sensor, resulting in average photo quality. However, there aren’t many budget smartphones that excel in photography.

5. Battery Life

The biggest highlight of this device is its 6000mAh super large battery, which provides excellent battery life. It can easily last a whole day under heavy use, and its charging speed is 44W, which is also quite good for this price range.

In summary, the IQOO Z6x is an ideal device for elderly users with exceptional battery life, capable of handling WeChat chats and short video scenarios. If young people buy it for use, it can also serve as a work phone.

6. Redmi Note 11 5G Version

This phone is the biggest competitor of the IQOO Z6x, as their configurations are very similar. Currently, the 6GB+128GB version of this phone is also priced under 1200 yuan, making it a relatively competitive budget smartphone, with the following configurations:

Like the IQOO Z6x, the Redmi Note 11 features the Dimensity 810 processor + 6GB RAM + 128GB storage combination, which is also a relatively excellent level in this price range, capable of handling WeChat and short video scenarios smoothly.

2. Display

This phone features a 6.6-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2400*1080. This screen supports 50Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz refresh rates, balancing smoothness and power saving.

3. Camera

The Redmi Note 11 5G version features a 50MP main camera + 8MP ultra-wide camera combination. The photo quality is average, but it is not considered poor among models in the same price range, as budget smartphones rarely feature an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

4. Battery Life

This phone is equipped with a 5000mAh battery, which also provides excellent battery life, capable of lasting a whole day. Additionally, its charging speed is 33W, which is normal for this price range.

Upon closer inspection, the Redmi Note 11 5G version also has decent product strength. Its battery is not as large as the IQOO Z6x, but its screen and camera quality are both superior to its competitor. Both of these phones are on par with each other.

Whether it’s the IQOO Z6x or the Redmi Note 11 5G version, both are leaders in the budget smartphone market and suitable for elderly users.
