The latest MIC45116 from Microchip is a synchronous step-down power module featuring a proprietary Adaptive ON-Time Control architecture. This power module integrates a DC/DC controller, power MOSFET, bootstrap capacitor, and inductor, significantly simplifying and lightening the concerns of engineers regarding circuit design and component layout; at the same time, this highly integrated solution can accelerate system design progress, thus shortening time to market. Specifically optimized internal power MOSFET and inductor parameters for low output voltage applications allow the MIC45116 to provide up to 6A of output current within a wide input voltage range of 4.75V to 20V without the need for external special heat dissipation.
